For those of you looking to find a diamond in the rough @ Bonnaroo this year, do yourself a favor and check out two Rock Snob Records artists playing the Cafe Stages.
Angel and the Love Mongers -- are a britpop sounding band that recently finished recording their 2nd album with legendary producer/musician Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Let's Active, etc...). Angel may be one of the best vocalists you will hear at Bonnaroo this year, and their live shows are something to behold. Tenderhooks are a lyric based 4 piece band who have been described as sounding like a combination of Wilco, Gram Parsons and Big Star. Throw into the mix a bit of progressive idiosyncratic guitar work and great harmony vocals and you will likely leaving Bonnaroo with a new favorite band. Seriously though, I checked out both of these links, and I'll try to catch them both depending on what the schedule looks like. Discovering these lesser-known bands is what Roo is all about.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!

I've sent in my application to the Real World. So I'm hoping to hear back from that. I'm putting A LOT of my eggs into that basket, the MTV basket. I'm also thinking about getting a gun, and dealing crack. Being a crack dealer. Not like a mean crack dealer, but like... like a nice one. Kinda friendly like, "hey, what's up guys? Want some crack?"

Wow. Coke and Budweiser -- I had no idea that Rock Snob Records had become so such a huge corporation in it's short 4 month existance...
Anyways, sorry for the "spam" post above. I've been a lurker on this board for a long time but had never posted here before. I guess I should have known better. This year will mark my 4th time at Bonnaroo. And I was just so excited that both bands on the label got invited to play Bonnaroo (what are the odds of that -after all Rock Snob Records is a 1 person operation with 2 bands and I play play drums in one of the bands].
That being said, the opportunity to play Bonnaroo for bands like us is huge -- and the potential exposure is amazing. However, there is usuallly so much going on that a person can end up missing a band or bands that they would have loved to seen... Especially if they don't even know the band exists. Thus the point of my post. Anyways, I hope everyone here has a great Bonnaroo and hopefully we will see some of you at the Cafe Tents this year.

Just ribbin ya for the obvious self-promotion. No harm, no foul. I'm glad these bands have a chance to show their stuff at Roo this year, and barring any conflicts I just may check you guys out. Hope ya draw a good crowd.
