*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
nothin against jack white, but i just don't see him blowing my mind live with 'ball and biscuit' '7 nation army' or 'fell in love with a girl'
I can't say I've ever been a huge Jack White fan, but after seeing him at Vegoose last year, I have to tell you that the guy f*ckin rips on guitar. He very much has the potential to "blow your mind" in the live setting.
shit, he will surely blow you away with the Raconteurs, I saw em in virginia and they are amazingly good live. so much better than on the album it is insane.
the real song after some jamming starts at 2:30
jack fucking rips for 2 and a half minutes straight starting around 4:22.
the band seems to want to go back into the song, but he keeps on soloing, hah

I would be surprised if the Raconteurs don't make an appearance of some kind at Roo. I saw them at the Orpheum in Boston in Sept, and when they took the stage Jack announced "We are the Racontuers out of Nashville, TN." Just down the road from the farm, so it only seems natural. Maybe not even a full set, but how bout a few songs at the end of the Stripes block?
As for the guy questioning if the Stripes would be able to blow his mind live, I would refer him to the "Live Under Blackpool Lights" DVD. (Don't be mislead by the MTV stuff!!) It is almost scary to think of that kind of live sonic power and intensity being produced by only TWO people!! If they can approach that level for their set they will definitely be one of the hightlights of this year's Roo.
Also it would be a dream to see them come back onstage for an encore performace - accompanied by Robert Randolph......

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of their set at Lollapalooza last year (mostly due to poor sound/spot in the crowd) but that song was killer. I'm definitely looking forward to the Stripes set to give me a stronger dose of Jack and I wouldn't turn down (or be all that surprised by) a Raconteurs cameo at some point during the weekend.
