Now that I think about it, this may be a misleading thread name.
Anyhoo. We're going for the 3rd time this year and I'm going nuts with anticipation. Sadly, she's just started a new job and the kids and everything else is bringing her down a bit. Even re-watching the DVDs isn't getting her as fired up for the Roo.
The one thing that would do it is the best show we saw in '04..DAVID BYRNE.
I have the 04 CDs but haven't found the full show anywhere. It isn't even on E-tree and I thought everything was there. Anyone seen his show about?

I have it.. PM me and I'll get it to you dude.
' Also..... put some tents outside. (weather permitting) Get the kids...and surprise her.... have a mini bonnaroo outside...maybe make instruments, roast marshmellows...tell ghost stories...
or give mom a break, and send her to a spa...tanning etc.. tell her, you want her fully rested.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this
Do you mind me asking what you are doing with the kids? That was our biggest issue. We have two kids under 3. My wife was feeling bad about leaving them with her mother for 3 days. That's what is stressing my wife about going. But waiting 20 years to see the Police is her driving motivation.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Actually, my kids are 6 and 7. (It was a very busy 22 months) We're sharing an RV with my younger bother and his wife and THEY have a 2 year old son. SO...the kids are splitting time between my parents and my wife's.
Its cool for them because we live a few hundred miles away and they don't get a lot of great time with the kids.
When we went on 02 we hired a sitter, which cost a fortune and caused a million degrees of stress.
We did the parent thing in 04 and that was a million times better.
That was my biggest concern when I decided to get these tixs for us. My two are 3 1/2 and 8 1/2 and yes this may sound odd, but I have never left them. Sure a night or two here or there...but then we are just usually in town out for a late night. So the thought of leaving them for 4 days and being 10 hours a way But my parents are totally cool with watching them and my mom is looking forward to it. So now if I can just relax and not worry about them..it should be a nice break for my husband and myself!

I could use some words of wisdom for getting my girlfriend excited as well. She's never done anything remotely close to this and she's pretty worried about being in over her head. Plus she's really against certain things that people probably won't bring in anyway, which doesn't help. She LOVES music, though, and I know she'll have a good time, I just want to ease her mind a bit and hopefully get a little excitement built up for it. Any advice?

I would say take her to a few shows, one from various different genres. I know Keller, Galactic, and Page McConnell are on tour, so picking one of those would be good. Also, The Hold Steady, Kings of Leon, and the Heartless Bastards are all on tour as well, so one of those in addition to one of the others would be good. And then something at a big ampitheatre would be good (maybe Chicago and America) would be good. Then, at the end of the last one, say "Combine all of these experiences, and that's a small version of what Bonnaroo will be." That's about the best I can give ya.
