Great idea, I'm in (with yet another acoustic guitar, sorry)!!! Looks like we have a few definite songs to learn beforehand (they've come up multiple times): Neil Young - Cortez the Killer Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe Neil Young - Rockin' In the Free World
I think we gotta throw in a little Watchtower too. I mean, it's three chords, how jam-ready is that?
Friday morning could be cool too... but not during the brunch, cause there are a lot of people who are attending both, and it would be nice to be able to eat/cook, and also jam. Maybe right after everyone is done eating, that could work....
Does anyone know the current record for the most guitarists playing the same song at the same time? It would be so cool to try to break the record.
1888 is the current record....all playing "Hey Joe". There will be an attempt to break it with 2000 people playing "Smoke on the Water" on June 3 of this year....I don't think we have much of a chance....
Musicians coming with us (and not to brag, but all of these people are really good musicians) Me- sing Sharon - guitar/piano/drums Chris - bass/guitar Danny - Guitar Sara - Cello (don't know if she'll bring that though)
we've got all bases covered to blow some people away!

Not sure if Sara's bringing her cello, but Sharon's all set with a piano? Cool.
im all for the jam session at brunch but im gonna be way dissapointed if it dosent happen on thursday night also. the music stops fairly early and if your going to bed before the sun comes up your doing something wrong jam sessions are way better at night and thursday night is the only night with a couple of hours to do it. well i guess sunday too. we should have a thursday kickoff jam when the music stops and then have a farewell jam on sunday after wsp. thats my 2 cents. but i dont even play an insturment si im not sure if my 2 cents is worth 2 cents.. but it all makes sense in my head.

That would be cool, but for myself I'll be heading back to the tent after Rod Y Gab. Try to find someplace where you wouldn't bother people trying to sleep.
And if you can clap your hands, hum, or whistle you can jam.

ya i can join the jam in a subtle background noise kinda way. i can do the drum thing in a basic way also.
as far as the other thing id have to say try to sleep where you wont bother anyone trying to roo it up. hojo works well j/k but seriously if im around ill probably keep ya up. bright lights, loud noises, and insane amounts of laughter seem to follow me around fests. sorry in advance. but if you cant sleep your not tired!! WAKE UP AND RAGE!!!!! roo only happens 1 weekend a year! ;D

Are you kidding? I've never been to Roo, but I can imagine that you'd be VERY VERY VERY hard pressed to find people who are willing to "shhhh..be quiet" at the largest music festival in the world!
I dunno about the rest of you, but I plan on raging all day and all night! When I finally pass out, I'll have some hardcore earplugs, and have my phone set on ring/vibrate against my face to wake me up!
so is this going down thursday night? the music ends at 130. plenty of time left for a jam. everyone should head to camp inforoo right after the music stops and get this going. and if no jam session then we should all meet up and party anyhow on thursday. for those who have trouble finding camp inforoo i can meet people at the fountain or the arch after the music and show the way. in my opinion we really need to have a big inforoo party on the first night of roo and the only night without music til dawn. my apologies in advance to the sleepers!!

I thought the plan was to incorporate this into the Friday morning brunch? Anyway, where is camp inforoo (which is where I assume the brunch will be too)?
well if the brunch thing is how it goes down thats fiine. but for me campsite jams are a nighttime event. but ohwell. just a thursday night party then is fine by me. it was just depressing last year to walk through camp inforoo several times after the music stopped early on thursday and not see a soul. its bonnaroo!!! you can sleep on monday! and all of my friends were not enjoying their chocholate as much as i was so they went back to camp. luckily i heard giant panda guerilla dub squad in the distance and made my way there. but it would be nic to get together and have an inforoo party when we are all in our "night time state of mind"
