i dont know much about this band but after seeing the movie "Half Nelson" im really getting in to them. They provided the soundtrack for most of the film. Anyways i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about their live shows and if they would be right for roo?
by the way "Half Nelson" was great for anyone who hasnt seen it.
Them and The Arcade Fire are the 2 bands that need to play Roo the most, IMHO. But, unfortunately it appears that neither will be playing in the near future.
Seen em twice. Loved em the first time at Lollapalooza, one of the greatest and most epic sets I've ever seen.
Second time I saw them was their most recent show before going on hiatus in Michigan. It was really good, but they played for 2 and 1/2 hours. I mean, I like the band, but that's just took long for me.
They got me hooked at VooDoo fest last year. Their set was damn good. By the way VooDoo is a completely underated and overlooked festival. Last year The Original Meters got up with the Chili Peppers and played a few tunes (Hand-Clapping Song!!!) during the Peppers headlining spot. Plus the Flaming Lips, Jamie Lidell, Secret Machines, Kings Of Leon, Brazilian Girls, Ozomatli, Ferry Corsten, Drive By Truckers, Social Distortion, Kinky, Yerba Buena, Duran Duran, Mute Math, plus all of the great New Orleans talent like Kermit Ruffins, Marva Wright, John Cleary, Chief Bo Dollis, Big Sam's Funky Nation, and many other smoking bands I discovered that weekend. Plus Wu-Tang was supposed to be there, but at the last minute pulled out. People really need to check this out. The best part is that I only payed 60 bucks for my ticket for the two day weekend!!!
If all of that is not enough, We all know the city of New Orleans needs our help by us coming and visiting one of the greatest musical cities...

i had such a great time when i went to New Orleans for voodoo. Only $60 for so many great artists. Probably my best birthday ever. And downtown New Orleans/bourbon street is so much fun.
