I would love to see Unknown Hinson make an appearance at Bonnaroo on a Cafe stage. If none of you are familiar, he does the voice of Early Cuyler on the hilarious Adult Swim cartoon Squidbillies.
He sounds like a cross between Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix, even playing covers of both during his shows (with astounding results). The guy can pick a guitar with the best and then shred like none other. The crazy thing is, his singing voice sounds exactly like the voice he does on the show.
Lot's of big timers really admire this guy on top of it all. Hank III has a tattoo of Unknown's face on his bicep and Tom Petty counts himself as one of his biggest fans.
hahaha i would love to see a show coming from one of the great minds behind squidbillies or most any other adult swim material (aka les also) so bring it on
^^I hope you weren't referring to "Robot Chicken" .... that show is awful. It's just a rip-off of an idea that Toy Fair magazinge came out with 10 years ago, but to even lesser results.
i dont really like that show that much. les does the music anyways so hes not associated with the creative "genius" aspect of the show (seth green uis so that woudl explain things). im just really, really, really hoping for les.
haha I understand. I'd love to see Unknown Hinson. I don't know if anyone gets a late night talk show usually played on classic rock stations, it's called Allen Handelman Show, and it comes on Sunday nights at around 10/9 Central. Well, about a year or so ago, they had Hinson on there doing the voices, and improvising little comic bits. They also had him play some of his own songs. Was really freakin great, that was around the time of the end of the first season, and Squidbillies has since become my favorite Adult Swim exclusive cartoon. It'd be a dream come true... I hope he brings his Truck-Boat-Truck to the RV camping!
and speaking of people related to adult swi mstuff, Dangerdoom would be on point. FOr those of you who dont know it, check out the Mouse and the Mask by them. Its MF Doom and DJ Danger Mouse (the Grey Album, Gnarls Barkley) collaborating so its good.
If one of em can come out and do the voice of the Giraffe from "Perfect Hair Forever" that'd be great (whoever it is that does the voice of that character I know it's one of the two) especially cool would be if he sang the closing credits theme to episode 4 of Perfect Hair (the one about eating babies.)
