*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I saw them at the Fireside Bowl (a bowling alley) in Chicago about five or six years back with the Liars, and they absolutely crushed. Being only a couple feet away, Karen O was close enough to where her beer spitting stunt was not just intense -- it was wet and kind of gross. Also saw them at the Fillmore here in Denver at some point last year and they translated fairly well for a big ol' hall like that.
i saw them at the nashville war memorial about 3 months ago and the are insane. its an extremely fun show to watch and i just think that all of their songs are good.
they were also touring with this band called deer hunter that is wild.
count me in for some yeah yeah yeahs (but at night... not in the afternoon.)
They would be great for Bonnaroo at any time, they put on a really intense show. Like Be Your Own PET last year, but WAY better.
Apparently one of the band members left the group after the Bonnaroo set...meh.
I'm sort of neutral on them. I liked their first album, and really, really didn't like the last one. Does Karen O still do her wild girl act or has she toned it down a notch or two?

karen O of the YYY's?....she has toned down huge....the last tour they did was amazing. One of the best show's I've seen. Nick Zinner is a great guitarist.
^^^I sort of figured the new album would translate a lot better live (sort of like the last Strokes album or pretty much any White Stripes album). The drummer's pretty damn good too for the sort of stripped down set he uses. He was sort of the backbone of the first album, but kind of got the shaft in the second one with all the slowed down tempo.
I figured Karen O would have to tone it down. She talked a lot about the persona taking a lot out of her and how it limited their capability of sustaining long tours. I also tend to think they abandoned their early style soon as they've had a ton of copycat acts...

i would love to see the YYY's play at Roo. They are a great female-fronted rock band who gets less credit than they deserve. A former co-worker of mine (45 yr old woman) said they reminded her of a modern time Pretenders.....and i dont think of that as a bad thing...Chrissie Hynde is the shit.
