In the past, I've found that most of the conflicts that have arisen are the result of Superfly needing to schedule two conflicting jam acts. Looking at this year's lineup, however, I have a feeling the tides are going to change. There are a very large number of indie acts on this lineup, and it appears to me that there could be quite a bit of indie overlap this year. With that said, the lines between genres have begun to fade, and most of us around here are fans of eclecticism. This can only serve to make things impossibly difficult in 2007.
One word that might solve a lot of the perceived conflicts: Thursday.
But my guess is that they'll schedule this year as they did last year and avoid most conflicts. For all the perceived jam band conflicts, last year, you still had things like Ben Folds vs. Devendra Banhart or Cat Power vs. Bright Eyes...

We'll just have to wait for the scheduele.... As Scooter said, conflicts will always exist, but good taste always prevails. Some bands just aren't to be missed!
It's such a sh*t feeling when you're thinking "Oh man, I can't wait to finally check out the Dingleberries," and next thing you know, they're totally up against the Skidmarks, who you've already told yourself you're not going to miss. Granted, it fades pretty quick, especially in the heat of the moment, but still...

Nearly every show I went to last year was amazing (Beck and Refugee All Stars aside), and I didn't get to go to half the acts I wanted to. It's like choosing off the menu at a first class restaurant. The decision's the painful part but then the awesomeness of the meal takes over and you forget about what you missed.

i have no idea how you could predict that, but oh my god that made me think.... we should have brackets, like ncaa march madness (we are all certainly mad enough!)... a big inforoo pool, using last years time slots.... that would be cool i wonder how close anyone could get to the real liineup lol
whats that saying that i HATE to say and when its said . . . cant have your cake and eat it too, or cant eat your cake and have it too . .. i dunno . .. all i gotta say is sacrifices might have to be made. Maybe you'll have to miss a show, or split up the shows, see half of one and half of another. They cannot tailor make a schedule to appease one genre of fans . . .

whatever the conflicts i'm just pumped! i'll still see awesome bands, of course i'll be sad when bands i want to see conflict, but by the time i'm on the farm i'll throw away all my months of plannign anyway and wing it

i've been trying for the past three years to predict the schedule and its not as hard as you might think, once the days get set in stone for when someone is playing, its more easy with the what and which stages, some latenight sets are easy to guess at what tent they will be at, i've been working on a schedule recently and will post it at some point
I'm going into this knowing that I will not see every band that I want to. If it comes down to choosing between two acts I really like it's pretty easy.
Franz vs. The White Stripes for example...I'd see Franz since I haven't seen them yet, even though I'd love to see the stripes again. You can always catch half of one set and then go to another as well.
You're gonna have conflicts. One other way to pick if you insist on full sets is to think back and see how frequently and close to you a band tours. For bands like Hot Chip, I know they won't play in Cincinnati, so I'd give them priority.

I decided to go see The Decemberists in April, that way in case there is someone playing at the same time as them... i can choose a little better. Although, I'm still hoping for no conflicts... so I can catch them at the roo too.
i wonder how close anyone could get to the real liineup lol
