Anyone else into these guys? If you're south of the border and haven't I recommend checking them out.
Their Myspace shows them playing on Thursday at 1pm, so it looks like I gotta get there early. If you're there early head over and watch them. Their Myspace songs don't due justice, so I won't post them, but they have some pretty good stuff.
Anyways, follow the Canadian flag Tursday at 12:55pm...

Sure they are a bit spacey at times (and I love Floyd btw) I don't see how they rip them off. Many other bands have more Floyd in them than Sammy ie: Mars Volta (which I love) and Wolfmother (which I'm not a big fan of).
And doesn't some of the older Pink Floyd stuff sound a lot like the Beattles? You can compare all day long...
there's a difference between influence and downright ripping off. So much so that i thought they were actually covering Comfortably Numb. Other than that though, it was a good show.
it's cool man, i am the same way. But in all honesty, i think they are a talented group and nothing really bad stuck out to me as ripoff other than the breakdown of the last song.

You know there's a lot of, well, shitty music out there, especially locally (I'm sure many Canadian will disagree), but it's nice to see someone with heart and who like to jam. Seems like Sam and the the band really has it in their heart (whether overly talented or not) to go out there and put on a great show. And I've heard Sam say it before..."I would die for rock and roll", which is awesome!
I really liked We Were Born In a Flame. I just downloaded Chemical City and like it a lot so far, especially "Mind Flood."
It's kind of funny that they fly under the radar here. There's nothing gimmicky about them (unless you count being Canadian a gimmick). They're just straight rock with good songwriting. Nothing spectacular or innovative. Just good.
