I hope they step it up this year, because looking at those schedules i think 05's latenight was waaaaay stronger then 06's, although i prefer 06's lineup overall. They gotta bring it back to 05' form, and one of the previous years they had primus and ween in the same latenight. Hopefully we'll see a return to form, i think they're off to a good start.
I aggree '05 latenight overall was better however on friday '06 it was sick...UM/disco and MMJ.........primus in '04 was my favorite latenight.....it was weird waiting for the dead to finish(les out of respect for the dead didn't play until they were finished) they had johnny cash playing over the PA system while we waited and hearing the dead on the main stage in the background was freakin real trippy then all u hear is les on stage yelling BONNNNAROOOOO ....classic.......STill praying for a les/buckethead show this year....

The power went out on them. I believe they said something along the lines of god not wanting them to play. ;D The horns is such an awesome way to open up their show, i think they should keep it forever. L'via Viaquez i believe.

Yes, it was glorious, best show i've ever seen. And the more i remember, probably the best i'll ever see, although the headliners this year have a chance to be very special.
I'm jealous. I saw them in 2005, and it was one of my better shows no doubt (a Friday the 13th), but it would be amazing to see them for an extra hour in at atmosphere like Bonnaroo.
I was really hoping, even though I felt it was a small chance, that they would be annouced this year.

It has been a year without them, so its a possibility. I have my fingers and toes crossed. I've said this before, tool into the mars volta, pure madness.

And as I have said before bring on Primus as well.

The Mars Volta in '05 were ,by far, my favorite Bonnaroo show so far! It was an amazingly energetic climax to a hot, sweaty Roo day! I hope, more than anything, that they make a return appearance this year. They are not only an incredible band but, but an awesome late-night addition! If they play, you won't be disappointed! It's truly a legendary preformance!
(I know they're not Panic At The Disco, MMJ, Phil, The Arcade Fire or Trey but, hopefully no one will lock this thread.)

I've been waiting for two years to see Mars. I didn't see them on the last two tours because they were the opening band? So really I'll be happy to see them at any time throughtout the festival, even if it's at noon.

Ohhh sh*t! Of course attornaroo, I totally forgot about the Flaming Lips, they have as much as a chance if not more of a chance than the other bands playing late night too. The Lips late night would be phenomenal. Here's to hoping that the Lips and Ween both play late night on the which stage.

at the volta latenight it took forever to get it going. i think it was like 4am and then it cut out shortly after they started. i was not in a remembering condition but i do rememebr that when the power went out midsshow he said 'god just took a sh.it on us" and everyone cheered and then he said "thats right, god takes shits too.... how do you think we all got here?" i cant beleive there were no freeking tapers at that show!!! why the hell dont they sell the sounboards???

There where tapers. Funny thing, I just threw in my 2005 TMV video boot for the first time in almost 2 years. Both the Aud and Vid quality is pretty much garbage, but its watchable. I guess alot of tapers didnt know what to expect with TMV so they didnt bother.
Like last year I was trying my absoulute hardest to find any kind of recording from Seu Jorges set, none exist I guess. Him and his bands tore it up last year. Possibly my favorite set from last year. Anyone who caught it knows what Im preaching.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
No one is talking about String Cheese playing late night. Bonnaroo owes them that. The last time they played in 04 they were up against Bob Dylan! This is the last tour with Billy. A late night Sci and Keller Jam would possibly be the greatest late night in Bonnaroo history!!

SCI late ngiht would be awesome. It would thin out the crowd at whatever show I was at (come on Flaming Lips or VOLTA!!!).

If SCI played against TMV, that'd pretty much be the worse possible conflict for me. But kinda fortunatly i dont have to worry about that for now, as we dont know whether TMV will be there.

You know......I got a hunch they're going to do the Superjam like they did last year. They had Trey and Mike with the Duo, and I bet this year it could be SCI and Keller. Definate possibility!

I really hope not. Don't get me wrong, last year's Superjam was phenominal, but I would rather have it be a one off thing. That band from last year's Superjam toured with Phil and played a bunch of shows. It really wasn't a Superjam, just another GRAB show.
While String Cheese and Keller is more in the spirit of a Superjam, they are still not something you could only see at Bonnaroo. If they do get a late night, I would rather they bill it is A Keller Williams Incident, and leave the Superjam for somethign else.
Two years ago was a real Superjam. Herbie Hancock ?uestlove and crew rocked the house for one, and only one show.

Yes, there were tapers. I have a copy, pretty decent quality. You want it?
www.jambase.com/festivals/bonnaroo/page2.htm I'm glad i didnt go in 04', because i think saturday late night would've given me a anuerism. Saul Williams made the wait fly for the mars volta for me.
It actually worked out pretty well because The Dead's set got pushed back because of the rain and Les didnt want to play during the dead's set (I actually saw him at Ween) So ween played during the dead and Primus started a couple hours after ween started and played what seemed like forever. And then cut-chemist played until like sunrise I think. It's all a blur
