For the sake of the dude's mental health, no. Daniel Johnston is literally mentally ill. When he's played festival type settings in the past, he's had psychotic episodes afterward. So while I'm a big fan of Johnston's music and point of view artistically, I'm not entirely certain Superfly wants to put themselves in that position.

I looked for this thread after your post in the Trey one. No surprises here that it only has 2 posts and I completely missed it.
I agree with you as much as I physically can. I've always just wanted to walk up to him and give him a big hug. He has a bad history of having psychotic episodes after every show. Forget shows, just in life in general. I feel bad for the guy. As much as Id crap my pants to see him play there, Id be totally against it and even go as far as to write a "Strongly worded letter" to SF/AC. I would really doubt you'd even see him hit the stage and throw on a fake, comfortable smile like he usually does. I'm sure he'd be miserable due to the crowds and heat alone.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
