Really provided some of my favorite moments from last year. The Andrew Bird set there was amazing. Even Matisyahu was good and Im really not a fan.
Who do you guys think is going to do an extra set on the Sonic Stage this year?
I'd love to see T-Bone Burnett sit down and do a 30 min set there. The thing that brought this into my mind was Okie Noodling. ON is a small project the FLips did for a friend of theirs who was doing a documentary. Its pretty straight forward Country with bluegrass and other styles infused. Of course it has a bit of a FLips touch to it. I would just flat out love seeing any of the FLips do anything on the Sonic Stage, it would probably be a mob.
Just letting my mind go wild right now. Its time for dreaming until they set things in stone.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
Sonic Stage was really one of the highlights for me last year. Saw Blues Traveler, Matisyahu, Andrew BIrd and Rusted Root. Really a cool way to experience a band.

I was kind of disappointed with the Sonic Stage because last year I went to see Andrew Bird and I couldn't hear him over whatever what going on at Which Stage.
Anyway, this year I'd really like to see Jeff Tweedy. And of course a set by Sting and his lute.
^^^I second a Jeff Tweedy acoustic set. Or Tweedy and Louvin doing a mini set together (they collaborated on their last album). I also think Richard Thompson would be a great addition to that stage as well.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
Never reallt stopped to look at the Sonic Stage. Can someone explain really what it was? Is it more or less and acoustic only stage?
More or less. It's not necessarily all acoustic, but it is more stripped down from the few shows I've seen there. Usually it's just a half hour set, followed by autograph sessions. It's also a very small stage area, so it's overall way more intimate than the other shows you'll see.

The sonic stage is amazing, I never had a chance to stop by there last year because I was too busy, but I would pass by it. I overheard Matisyahu laying down some sic beatboxing and that was it. I'm hoping for an acoustic performance by Damien, I wouldn't miss that for the world.

Yeah, I remember that. Thing that blew my mind was when he started whistling and it overpowered the other stage. Guy really is a unique talent.

I love the Sonic Stage but there's a level where the performer is too big to play there. The Umphrey's Sonic show last year had so many people overflowing out into the street I can't imagine them booking too many acts like that again. But it sure is the best way to catch a quick intimate teaser set with a couple hundred people.
Blues Traveller's was SOOOO crowded. We made the mistake of just trying to walk by it, got stuck in a mass of people for 15 minutes....Got to hear them play Run Around though.
Buddy Guy was still going strong at the Sonic stage shortly after his set last year.
