What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
That would work out nicely for me. Can only really do 3 days. I had to either miss the first headliner or the last headliner. I have seen Panic too many times so this works out perfectly.
The White Stripes are playing Sunday which makes me wonder if Tool isn't playing directly after them Sunday night and not Friday night. Stripes are too big to not play mainstage and I see them as the preheadliners, but they don't seem like a good fit to go right before WSP

I dont know both the White Stripes and Widespread owe alot to old southern blues, i would say White Stripes are much closer in terms of style to WSP than to Tool. I'd love to see Flaming Lips do a Pre-Tool slot for some ultimate bizaareness
Wow, that's huge news. White Stripes could definitely close it down on Sunday night, but they don't really feel like the type of band you'd have do that. I love them, but they seem to me like they would pre-headline on Sunday or potentially they could close down the second stage (but I think they are too big for that).
Jun 14 2007 8:00P Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival Manchester, Tennessee
so it looks like we have the headliners for each of the four nights
Thurs - WSP Fri - Tool Sat - The Police Sun - White Stripes
Edit: my first post by the way, and may likely be my first trip to Rooooo!
I hope this is true and WSP is headlining Thurs, and we still have a headliner to be announced. But sometimes bands just put the first day of the festival on their myspace if they don't know the exact date they are playing. Even though I'm sure WSP knows what day they're playing, the person who is running their myspace could not know and just threw up the first date of the festival.

^^^ agreed. Bonnaroo has been a 4 day fest in all but name for several years. Just because they went ahead and made it official doesn't mean there will be a main stage headliner on Thur. I'm guessing we'll get 10-12 of the smaller name acts and maybe a little late night action on the first night but the headliners will be on Fri, Sat & Sun and I'm betting on WSP to close out the party.
Guys, it's listing 6/14/07 on the myspace page b/c that is the first day of the festival. This was a problem with the schedule last year, if you remember. When we were trying to piece together what band was which day, repeatedly we ran into the problem the bands just listed the first day of the fest, rather than their actual day, later changing it.
So, NO CHANCE, imo, that Panic is 6/14/07. I just don't think there is anyway that happens. Panic will close. They are veterans of the festival and the only jamband Headliner on the bill. If Vegas had odds on it, I'd lay a grand on it. Panic closes the 2007 edition of Bonnaroo.
^^^Only problem is this: The uncertainty about Radiohead's date had nothing to do with secrecy on AC/Superfly's part and everything to do with the Radiohead camp not having released its US tour dates.
^^That's kind of my other point. WSP is kind of a polarizing headliner that many people would skip if they were on Sunday. A Thursday slot might actually benefit them and increase the audience they might lose from people taking off early on Sunday to get back to their respective lives.
Ween's myspace has the same date and time as WSPs...I bet there are probably a couple more with that date and time if anyone wants to check 73 myspaces
Couldn't the White Stripes be playing the Sunday Which Stage like Modest Mouse did? I know that they are well known but they don't have a very large body of work, do they? I'm admittedly not a huge fan but thought that I'd float the idea.
I agree that Tool and the White Stripes both seem like unlikely Sunday night headliners. Roo seems to like to play Sundays close to their base (WSP, Trey, Phil Lesh, etc). It doesn't seem like they'd want Tool to be their lasting impression for the festival.

Comparing them to Modest Mouse is a bit hard to do. They've had two albums crack the top 10 stateside, something, to my knowledge, Modest Mouse has never done. They have five albums and a myriad of covers and b-sides, so I don't think material would be a problem. It's still hard for me to see them straight up headlining though. I see them leading into a headlining act or headlining the Which Stage at the very least, as you suggest.
