The Von Bondies blamed Jack's producing for the lack of success of their first album (which I think the lack of success of their second album pretty much disproved). The lead singer/player for the Von Bondies confronted Jack at a club, push comes to shove, Jack kicks his ass.

I need to see Ball & A Biscuit Live, so they better play that one, there are many other songs I want them to play but none more than that one...
Lets have a ball and a biscuit sugar And take our sweet little time about it Lets have a ball and a biscuit sugar And take our sweet little time about it Tell everyone in the place just to get out Well get clean together And Ill find a soapbox where I can shout it
i love the white stripes, honestly, elephant was one of my favorite albums like ever. but i truly think they would be better with a bass player. like even if he wasnt that good, ya know like meg white.

Jack likes to base the Stripes stuff off of the number three; most songs have three pieces: guitar (or piano), vocals, percussion. They often shoot for minimalism, and trying to produce more sound with less instruments; if you want Jack with a bass, listen to the Raconteurs.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the first-timers react to the Stripes. They play like the world's ending around them. As cheesy as it sounds, it can be a very primal experience.
When they did Jolene on the conan O'brian show a few years ago I swear Jack was close to tears. It know it was not(to me atleast) a particuley well done, He sang it with so much emotion that I was speechless. It was mind bogglying how much passion he had as he sang it.
Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.

If anyone needs proof of the greatness that is the white stripes live, or needs a little reassurance should check out their "under blackpool lights" dvd.
Just watched those videos, and decided they might as well call the band jack white, but they got me excited to see the stripes.
You can't underestimate Meg's importance though. I've seen Under the Blackpool Lights, so I know the power they can have. The one time I saw them though, Jack was terrible. He was REALLY f*cked up. I mean he couldn't play any of his solo's right, and his voice sounded awful. Meg tried her damnedest to keep the show together. The highlight was when she sang. I know this was just a one-off terrible Stripes show, but Meg is a very important part of the band and she should be given credit for at least keeping Jack balanced. I highly look forward to seeing them kill it this next time and put that sh!tty show behind me.

Oh, i definatly agree that she fits nicely in the band, but jack could continue the stripes without her, if she lost jack, the stripes are no more. I like the guitar heavy sound of the stripes, and i think thats what great about them is that they can sound so good in their simplicity, kinda like primus. They both play bigger then they are, and thats something you have to admire.
Does it really take a Blake Flemming or a John Bonham to be a great drummer? Well in a sense yes, but I say if you can subdue it and keep it simple and make the music work, you're a great drummer Meg!
the new rolling stone has a piece on bonnaroo and its initial lineup and it has the white stripes as a headliner. not sure if this was in any page back but didnt feel like looking back multiple pages.

She's more of a metronome than a drummer....a cymbal-happy metronome.
no way, Jack runs the show and doesnt just work with a metronome, Meg has to read him and change as needed. She is really damn good at it. Watch some live shots and really pay attention to the way they interact. Without Meg there would be no White Stripes. Its a chemistry thing. If another drummer played for Meg it would be a very very different show, they would probably need to start using set lists. Casual fans of the band will not understand this.
