My next statement usually shocks the hell out of all my friends. Generally because Im a huge fan of Les' work. Beyond that I LOVE anything he's apart of live.
That said, Oysterhead is the only side-project Les has ever done that I absolutely cannot stand. There's nothing too personal involved here. Theres alot of music out there that I feel I should appreciate and enjoy. Some of this music I try really hard with, I almost force myself to like it but it never happens. I've always had a love/hate relationship with Trey. I believe he is an amazingly talented musician, and I respect him for that. I love listening to him play guitar, but I think he shouldnt be allowed on-stage or in a studio without duct tape over his mouth. I'm definetly not one to think that a vocalist needs a traditionally clean voice to be good, but Trey makes me cringe if he's doing anything but TRYING to harmonize.
I would much rather see Les blow the preverbial roof off of Bonnaroo by tossing Ler and Herb into his equipment trailer.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
I hear you stuckinutero about Trey's singing. Great guitar player but aweful singer. That is one of the main reasons that Phish doesn't do it for me either.

i doubt oysterhead will play. they had some rehearsal time before their set last year. with Stewart on a big tour, that can't happen this year. so, no oysterhead probably.
i sure hope les is there tho. hopefully with primus.

Totally forgot to mention that too. There has been absolutely no news on them practacing together. Plus I believe Trey is in rehab somewhere. Basically, it aint gonna happen. Despite my post above I still wouldnt complain about it. I was just disappointed at the set last year. Had you caught their previous (and only) major tour than you really didnt miss ANYTHING.

Like I said. Ive always tried really hard to dig them, I just cant. Growing up, my sis's boyfriend followed Phish on tour. I had plenty of exsposure to them. I really dig the tunes, but then Trey just pierces through the sonic beauty and takes a Machette to it.

If Trey is doing it right, he will be long done with rehab by June. From the interview a couple of days ago, he was already letting the rehab/recovery slogans and catchphrases flow like he had been in for awhile.
I love Trey, but have never been much of a fan of his solo stuff, and Roo '05 sealed the deal for that, but he plays so well with other artists, I would be disappointed if it was a Treyless year.
The point that they haven't rehearsed is a good one. Maybe a one or two song appearance at a set featuring Les or Trey, but I wouldn't think they'll be booked again.

Now that you mention that it actually makes some really good sense. Stewart will definetly be there. Les and Trey are pretty much locks for Roo every year.

But bringing up Oysterhead makes me think of an entirely different point altogether. Weren't they announced right around the time of the ticket sale? I mean, everyone knew it was going to happen, but AC/Superfly timed it right around ticket sales to give it that extra boost. Do you think we're in store for a similar treat?
