Parliament is one of my favorite bands ever, followed closely by Funkadelic. I would love to see The P Funk Allstars (or whatever name they tour under now) at Roo. I just wanted to see everyone elses opinion.

George Clinton's love for the pipe has ruined his voice and stage show. The past few shows here in Florida where he lives(ed) were horrible. I vote no unless Bootsy Collins joins them.

im all for p funk playing even if clintons really is noticably lamer, the environment they would put on at a late night show would be potentially insane. and if bootsy jumped in on stage that would be amazing

I consider them one band, and that one band is one of my favorites ever, but whatever. They were the same exact band. That being said, I would love to see them in any form, but if they could pull together most of the original members including Maceo, Bootsy, and Fred Wesley then maybe we would be talking about something very special. Question is this though, if they reunited most, if not all of the original members, would that be big enough to headline?

Too bad Eddie Hazel has been gone from us for nearly 15 years now. "Maggot Brain" would have been unbelievable---too good for words!---bleeding out of Hazel's guitar in the midnight air of Manchester, TN.
All dreaming aside, bring on the P-Funk late night, I'm ready to boogie.

I've had two chances to witness the funktopus in the past but, I had to decline for personal reasons....I absolutely HATED both people that invited me. Give me another chance, George!

if we're talking about getting maceo, bootsy and fred to play, why not have a full fledged reunion on the JB's??? i'd much rather see that than p-funk. a straight up late night set to honor the godfather soul would be TITS!!!
I've seen him twice, free concert at the U of M and once at a little dive bar/club here that they should have been above playing. They put on a hell of a show both times.
The JB's would be AMAZING and utterly appropriate.
I saw P-Funk once, in Miami late-night after Phish. It was one of the most disappointing, sloppy shows I've ever seen. I think the idea of them playing Roo is better than the reality of it.

I think people have wanted them to play since the begining, they're just a no-brainer.. But my guess is that george wants possibly more money that he's worth, the guy has a lot of money issues...
I know at least Boots, Maceo and Worrell have toured with him in recent years, so anything's possible...
I'm all for the Funk late night. Thing is, once they start there's no stopping them. Late night = All night! When they came to Nashville a few years back they had to cut the electricity to the stage mains in hopes that they'd wrap it up. They must've played another ten minutes after the main sound was out ;D
