Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
its deinitely not for roo. a buddy went to a show in toledo. george bush was on stage and they cut him in half and shoved his head up his ass. and they had scott petersen cutting a baby out of lacey. truly disgusting shit. its an interesting spectacle. but not one that should be at roo imo.
Dude, just a second ago you said you would take a show, and the next post you said it didn't belong. Pick one.
Who is to say who does and doesn't belong at Bonnaroo? GWAR is so obviously not serious about what they do, it's not like they're really trying to be demons from hell. They are serious about their craft, but they aren't really the Scumdogs of the Universe. My point was that they could be in The Other Tent, away from anything :important," so people so inclined could go see them, and the tripped-out folks could leave easily.

ya i forgot to add the but not at roo part. i went back and di it when i noticed it. sorry about that. i would take a gwar or brockie show. some of my friedns are into it and i dont wanna go through life not having seen that spectacle. but people would freak out if they stubled across gwar at roo. and im not really sure what it would do to the crowd. i dont see gwar fans going to roo. and i dont see roo fans going to gwar. and i dont see superfly signing any act like gwar.
No, I don't see it in the near future myself. I just think it would be fun. And yeah...like I said in the original thread...those poor kids that would stumble upon it out of nowhere. Wow.
ya its definitly the spectacle thast the draw. although i know a few people who like the music. especially dave brockies solo stuff. not really my taste though. i remember in like 6th grade gwar was on the cover of thrasher. ever since reading that article ive wanted to witness the spectacle of gwar. but if i dont i will survive.

I'd love to see GWAR there, but I'm not holding my breath. If the lineup came out and they were on it, I'd be happy, but at the same time wonder "how the f did that happen?"

I've seen GWAR live and it was a really good show! "Show" being the operative word in that sentence. They're a fun band, plain and simple. I don't think that they would freak anyone out simply because they are SO damn cartoonish in their delivery. It would be a really fun way to end a long, hot day of serious music. Plus, when you consider how much they like to just walk around town in their costumes (a town, maybe Richmond, in VA actually has a law that prohibits them from doing this anymore!), There would be a great potential for some of the most surreal sh*t you've ever seen (imagine Oderous hanging out in the Sonic Forest, buying a funnel-cake or waiting in line for the ferris-wheel)! I would LOVE an appearance by the Scumdogs!

for those of us who have seen gwar know u leave the show looking like a rainbow. the entire show they spray the crowd with salty colored water!!. I wouldn't put it past superfly to book these guys b/c in '05 they had the legendary shack shakers and these guys tore it up and the lead singer was very perverted. They were hardcore rockabilly. It was a small crowd compared to most at the 'roo but gwar would get a much bigger draw. I say bring 'em on!!!
For those who haven't been to a GWAR show, this is why they won't play Roo:
It would be hilarious though - I'd definitely watch it from a long way away. I'd be worried for the souls who tried the chocolates before, I think that would be way too much.
