They did, but it was rather disappointing. Simon solo would be a bigger draw.
Not to mention that Paul and Art don't get along...at all.
I doubt that they would be there. In fact, I know that Art won't. My dad plays for him, and he would have said something to me by now.
I doubt that Paul would be there, either. Bonnaroo doesn't really seem like his type of gig.
Although I would love to see one or the both...Art's still got it...in my opinion. When he holds that note out on Bridge Over Troubled Water...that's MUSIC right there. I nearly had tears in my eyes when I heard them both sing it together on their tour two years ago.
lmao. I love that somebody took a karma point away from me for disagreeing with them. Nice.
I don't know...I just don't see Paul Simon playing at Bonnaroo...he doesn't exactly sell out huge halls by himself...that only happens if he and Art are together. His set is cool...I'm not disagreeing with you there...and I'd love to see him there. But I just don't think it will happen. He may play smaller fests, but he doesn't draw a headlining spot.
That's just my opinion of course...the opinion that apparently warrants me losing karma.
Wow. That would be something special. Give me some full percussion Obvious Child as the sun is setting...whoa! Mother and Child Reunion, Late In the Evening, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, Kodachrome, Diamonds on the Soles, Me and Julio, Loves Me Like a Rock, Call Me Al, ...bring Art out for some old S&G favorites and we're set for hours. ;D

joga, so Paul Simon wouldn't play Bonnaroo because he doesn't have the draw to headline? I agree he doesn't have the popularity, but... all that means is he'd play a different slot. To me it makes perfect sense that he'd be a pre-headliner, which would appropriately put him in the same category of Dylan, James Brown, David Byrne... in terms of popularity, that seems about right to me. Also think he'd dig the atmosphere of the fest.
And don't sweat the karma thing. There are idiots on this board, and one of them will probably knock me down one just for that comment.
Anything's possible, right? I guess I just see him playing a different type of environment, but hey- if he comes to Bonnaroo, I'll be happy to have been wrong.
And I'll try not to be bothered by the karma thing. I just think it's sad that it's not reserved for truly offensive comments, rather than personal opinions that differ from someone else's.

I agree with this completely. I would love to see Simon do a pre-headliner on Saturday night, right before the Police.
