OK, so I know that he's not at all an artist that Bonnaroo is at all likely to have two years in a row, especially after last year's set was (in my opinion) a little disappointing, but an artist I would love to see in a one-off "and friends" type show would be the king of collaborations, Elvis Costello.
He could perform with any number of the artists with whom he has collaborated in the past, i.e. the Impostors (his band), Burt Bacharach, Bill Frisell, Brodsky Quartet, Emmylou Harris, T-Bone Burnett, etc, and maybe others.
Generally, my experience is that EC's shows are amazing, and I would love to see him in a better roo slot.
Hey, Jude, don't be afraid. You were made to go out and get her. The minute you let her under your skin, Then you begin to make it better.
And any time you feel the pain, Hey Jude, refrain. Don't carry the world upon your shoulders. Well don't you know that it's a fool who plays it cool By making his world a little colder.
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
He is great live. I wasn't dissapointed with his set at Roo, but it was the weakest of the shows i've seen. IMO he doesn't need guests, he could pull a 2 hour set like it was nothing. Although Emmylou and T-Bone would be cool.
his set last year was pretty disappointing. i saw him a few years back with emmylou harris and was great. although he doesn't really need guests, he always does really well with them. did anyone see the vh1 special with him and fiona apple, death cab, and green day ?
