Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.
I've used that site to get setlists and show reviews a few times before. Usually when they list a tour date or something that is unconfirmed they put an asterisk next to it...they seem pretty sure about him playing Friday...
edit: Of course, by that site I mean the one in the first post, not bobdylan.com

Man, I dunno. Looking at their updates, they added the Bonnaroo date the 29th of January. We can't call it a confirmation, but I would say this is pretty good information. Good find!
edit: Also, I dunno what this would mean about his time slot. It seems like he COULD fit Tom Petty spot, but even with his recent success, I don't think he's jumped enough to headline. Also, I don't think he'd headline one night with the Police the next.

I'm not sure, to me it looks like a fan-run website and therefore the guy might have just taken that from one of the phony Bonnaroo lineups floating around. In any case I emailed the guy and I'll let y'all know what he says about where he got his info.
That is pretty much a confirmed for me... I've seen this site before and it has been reliable in the past, often announcing whole tour schedules before they even happen. Back in '04 it had dates of three toronto Dylan shows when the official announcement was only one, then two a month later, and then low and behold the very weekend he was in toronto he announced the last date.
I wouldn't take it as 100% at roo, on friday... but i'd wager good money he'll be at the festival.

I really don't have any interest in seeing Bob again, personally. But hey, that's just more room for the rest of you. I hope he shows for everyone else's sake, but i'm going to sit that one out.
And to oatmeal, I understand. For me it would be great, though. I really like his new album and I haven't seen him before, so it's be a chance to scratch another performer off the "before I/they die" list.
Bobby is hit or miss live. Luckily when i saw him it was a hit. I'm personally hoping ole' man Zimmerman will be in Manchester this summer, i loved Modern Times and would love to here some of those tracks live.
* Unconfirmed dates represent shows that are under consideration by management. In most cases, contracts for these shows have not been signed, and they may or may not happen.
I saw Dylan on the ""Budokan Tour" in '78. I can only get a "better "performance. It would be sweet to have some of the former Band members with Zimmy. I would even settle for Mr. Knopfler and Emmy Lou as compadres. If Bob plays this year I think we'll see lots of surpises... I hope.
Speaking as most likely the biggest Dylan fan and follower on inforoo, that site is 99.9% reliable. The "Expecting Rain" site is just about as official as Bobdylan.com. I have seen him about 9 or 10 times in the last 4 years and in my opinion he is sounding more interesting than ever. The new songs sound great live but when I saw him he only played like 3 of them. If Dylan is playing Roo in the summer you can almost count on him being joined by Willie Nelson. Those Dylan/Willie ballpark concerts are just about as good a time someone can have watching music live.
well i would certainly be happy if willie was with him. and willie is due for roo. i figured he would have played by now since he was booked once already.

So true. Those were some fun shows. The people that complain about Dylan live are only complaining about his voice now(which I've come to love). There is no denying that the music is great. Every performance I've seen in the last 6 or so years has been quality. I haven't seen him since Jazzfest last year, so I'd love for him to be at Roo.
The Dylan/Willie shows were alot of fun. Last summer he had Elana James, Junior Brown, and Jimmie Vaughan all as openers. Talk about good openers. At the show 2 days prior to the one I went to Eric Clapton even showed up and played with Jimmie Vaughan. Dylan didn;t invite him out later, though. I don't know why everyone thinks Dylan will have a bunch of guests at Bonnaroo. He just doesn't really do that.
i know one person who had great things to say about a dylan show. and jack white came out for half of it. so thats kinda a given. but id like to see him with somebody. i cant really see him headling without someone. same with willie. so that would be awesome.

The second time I saw Dylan and willie Nelson, Willie joined him for a few songs including a great version of "I shall be released"
