Can't see it happening. It is supposed to be a "one-off" thing and Bonnaroo wouldn't be doing much to isolate itself as the original/special event that we come here to drool over....
Let them have their Rage....I'll take The Police, PJ, Neil Young, Tom Waits, etc...
...and I may get some backlash for this but, My Morning Jacket rocks just as hard if not harder than Rage.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.
i saw my morning jacket in knoxville and i had fun but i was pretty drunk...but i don't think it was fun for sober people just cause i remember they sorta just stood there and sang..no energy...rage would be sooo much better. but mmj coulda just been boring cause there wasn't much energy from the crowd either.
oysterhead is a gimmick band.... with that talent they could have created something special... it just sounds like trey being trey and les being les..... they just happen to be playing at the same time... it really is a shame....
ps. i used to like them a lot... but i've just come the conclusion that the band is nothing special...
Im psyched rage is back, thats some pretty monumental news for me. i would love to see them play but only on a separate tour. i dont think that show would fit too well at roo and i dont think id apreciate it as much..

as much as i love Rage, i think it would be a horrible idea for them to be at Bonnaroo, Tool is one thing, but Rage is completely different....way too much anger, and some of the people that follow them would NOT be good for the vibes.
^^^Yeah, especially the idea of a late night Rage show is kind of horrific. I mean, late night is already pretty crazy, but you add marxist anger to that, and it's over.
The only way I could see them working is a big midday set, before people have time to get loaded.

I saw Rage three times spread over '91-'97. They were great but I would not want them at roo. Absolutely would be a vibe killer. Their shows were crazy with testosterone, violent fights, and all around craziness. It was a total blast but it could not be more wrong for roo. Even with their intelligent political themes it just wouldn't fit due to the behavior of fans I witnessed. These shows are nothing like a Tool show which I think would fit for roo.
Nobody wants to be googly eyed on treats and witness that.
