I don't think Tool would have to headline. They could be a late night show or open for the Friday night headliner. I don't think Tool and PJ would play back to back. I see MMJ being the opener for PJ.
I would absolutely love to see Tool their, headline or not. I do understand where people are coming from as far as the whole vibe thing goes... But regardless it'd make Bonnaroo so much more enjoyable for me. I have loved Tool for a long time, whereas I'm pretty new to most of these "jam" type bands, and would take Tool over any other band that has been mentioned, even PJ.
Didn't know APC was done for... That sucks! I didn't like eMotive at all, though.

Given Tool's brutal world touring schedule the past year, it's hard for me to see them headlining Bonnaroo this time around.
Well, I've heard there will be another North American leg this spring....I could see them hitting Bonnaroo at the tail end. Given how sporadically they tour, it might be now or never.

Tool at Bonnaroo...it could happen. Could they headline? I seriously doubt it. However, if they are announced to headline and subsequently announce that they are set to do a three hour set, then it's huge news. Tool usually hovers around 9-11 song setlists, so for them to stretch out a set would be pretty big news.

Tool seems a bit too big right now to play Roo' IMO... But i'll take Tool over Radiohead anyday... No offense guys but i could have fallen asleep at RH last year... I went with an open mind and it didnt fly, to each his own...

To each his own, no doubt. But, dude?!? I just feel so sorry that some didn't see the same show I did... Personal opinions aside, I have never seen a more important show. For Radiohead to come to America's heartland, and the epicenter of the "Red States" to sing against the war, establishment, and inequality in a time where our government employs these principles is what Bonnaroo is all about. If you were awake during "You and Whose Army?", Thom Yorke had a camera focused right on his eyeball, and at the chorus he leaned away, bringing into focus all 80,000 of us. To me it was and is OUR army, and a reminder that we are the checks and balances; and that the responsibility to promote change and a new way of thinking is yours and mine, here and now.

For what it's worth, I think Radiohead really liked 'Roo.... Here's Thom speaking to Pitchfork...
"We did this festival called Bonnaroo. We did 2.5 hours. And there's 80,000 people, admittedly they've been smoking the sticky green all day-- probably wouldn't go anywhere anyway. It was just amazing. We played loads of new stuff. We did whole sections of quiet piano songs and it sounds like the most grotesque, self-indulgent nonsense, but it probably is my favourite gig for years and years and years. It was a really mellow evening. Actually it's all being filmed, but we're sitting on it because there's loads of new stuff on it. Because we're mean like that. It will come out eventually."

And not to beat a dead horse, but that's why many artists prefer Bonnaroo to Coachella -- full set times allow them to stretch out and do more of what they want to do.
I remember, after 'roo '05 I was looking back with great fondness on Rilo Kiley's setlist. I went and checked their setlist for Coachella of the same year, and it was about a 45 minute set-- half the length. As a fan/festival patron, I wouldn't want to trade all the additional superb songs and encrores they did at 'roo for having them introduced by "Pedro" from Napoleon Dynamite.

Yeah its all good man... This board was full of RH fans last year i caught a little retaliation from mostly lighthearted comments of mine but i DEFINATELY know how it is to love your band... Im not a hater either, i've been there before and its stupid, just throwing out my 2 cents like i said, to each his own...
A couple of my buds didn't enjoy the Radiohead show that much either. I, on the other hand, even not being a real fan prior to the RH show, really loved it and it was among my favorite shows of last year.

Thats what its all about, i've seen alot of first shows at festies and some bands hook me for good, others grab my interest enough to see them again and some make me realize that im just not into it... Its all good in the end.
