Pretty sure they will be there remember when bonnaroo sent out an email about them and yesterday when i was on pollstar I typed in bonnaroo and under related tenacious d came up So I think it is a strong possibility
I totally agree. They've released the new album/movie, are touring, and on the Bonnaroo page it said "our friends." If Jack Black isn't shooting a film then I think they'll be there.
def, i saw them late nov. and they really rocked, alot harder than im sure most casual fans of them would think. Funny as hell, and can still play the shit out of their guitars.

I can see them either having Elvis Costello's slot on the What Stage from last year, being the last band to play The Which Stage on one day, or playing a late night show probably in That Tent or even the Which Stage.

I really don't think they're headliner material-- I see them doing a late night thing. They'd be big enough for Which IMO, but they might prefer to have a tent.
You guys really think The D is late night material? It's kick-ass comedy metal rock, which I think would be perfect in the late afternoon. Late night would be cool, but I just think the late night slots should be filled by bands with a little more depth, not hat The D isn't AMAZING.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
The way I see it, Tenacious D could have gone two ways:
a) Jack Black goes into the comedy business. They become one of the craziest comedic bands on the market. A perfect fit for bonnaroo.
or
b)Jack Black doesn't go into the comedy business. They get together and write amazing songs anyways (be them funny or not). STILL a perfect fit for bonnaroo.
The facts are that the D rock harder than a vast majority of bands I've ever seen. They belong there. Hands down.
i hope they arent a lateinght. because i will likely miss them. but i think they could be. last year they had 3 latenights that were all different. one for each of the "groups". im guessing that TD would nicely fill the latenight with the more popular/mainstream draw. but id probably catch something else. i hope they play a daytime show. or maybe a thursday headline/latenoight. id freeking love that.

i was looking on their website and noticed that they havent played a concert since 2004 that wasnt a benefit concert. dosent mean they wouldnt do something like roo. just something i didnt know and found interesting.
my bad it looks like they are on tour right now. and did have fall dates. some how i missed it. when i loaded the page it was at the bottom somehow and only saw the recent shows list which dosent have those shows listed. again my bad.

Well, I just remember getting an email in the fall about them in a Bonnaroo labeled email. Never checked their website until now, can see the confusion after doing so.
