i really think that they will be there, i was looking at their tour dates for the past two years and they played a lot of festivals and fairs and stuff like that, obviously smaller than bonnaroo, but we already know they are staying in the general area at the same time, chattanoga on thursday at riverbend festival and in birmingham on friday, i'd look for them on saturday or sunday, so i'm sure steve miller already knows, they were probably told to stay around the area

doubt it, there's about zero demand for steve miller at Roo
I'll doubt he's that expensive to book, he played a bunch of free shows at state fairs last year. I for one would enjoy his show for the nostalgia, plus before he was reeling off the hits he actually played a mean guitar. I think they'd throw him on the 2nd stage on Saturday early afternoon. Of course I doubt he'd be there, but I would attend barring any conflicts.

Maybe not for the "younger" crowd, but I have seen Steve Miller a few times and he does an awesome show, so I would love to see him. He certainly would be a day time smaller stage show, but I think you would be surprised how many people would enjoy his show.
When I said he was expensive, I was basing that on my knowledge of other tours of older acts. For instance, Styx is playing the Pageant in St. Louis in about a month and tickets are $39. $39! A band that's been around 20+ years and definitely hasn't had a rise in popularity is able to charge that. The benefit is that all their fans got old and got jobs and have got that money. It's kinda sad, I was just thinking of the SMB in the same boat.

i'm pretty sure this is the 30th anniversary year of fly like an eagle, last year was petty's 30th, i don't know if steve miller could headline but he could open for a classic rock act maybe or even a jamband
Steve Miller hasn't stayed as relevant as Tom Petty though. Since 89 Tom Petty added Free Falling, I Won't Back Down, Running Down a Dream, You Don't Know How It Feels, Mary Jane, and possibly a couple others I missed. In addition, he released a good new album with playable material.
id take a steve miller band daytie show for sure. that would be great. and i think its more relevant than you think if your not in your early 20's or younger. i could see them in the steve winwood slot. and i know i would enjoy it more then dylans set. and the play venues like the toledo zoo quite often. along with alic cooper and guster. so i dont see how they can be that expensive if they are playing venues like the toledo zoo and drawing in less then a couple thousand on their tours.
I saw Ratdog and SMB a few years ago. Ratdog was waaaaay better
SMB was okay - I mean, they played the hits. But during "joker" (or was it fly like an eagle?), he had this guy come out and rap some lines. most of the audience had a collective wtf look on thier faces.
although id like to see them. and think it would be an enjoyable daytime show that would draw a good crowd. im sure it would just be a mailed in greatest hits set playd note for not off the radio version. bob weir they are not. but id still enjoy it.

Ya know, I heard "Dance, Dance, Dance" yesterday...somewhere...must have been in my NYE weekend blur. Anyway, I remember thinking "Oh yeahhhhh, good stuff, dance, dance, dance. Sweeeeeet."
So maybe he wouldn't be a completely pointless addition!
