With Ween coming out with a new album next year, it is a possibility they could play roo next year. The article says they have been courted by a few festivals already, but might limit how many shows they play before the cd is out.
Ween Been awhile since the last update but things have been a little busier than usual around here. Been getting a lot of emails from people asking what's up with the new Ween album and when we'll be touring again. As far as the album goes, we have a lot of demos of new material (and we're still writing more) and have pretty much picked out the keeper songs with our producer Andrew Weiss. Andrew is currently working on a couple different projects and then when he's finished we start tracking the new Ween album. I can't really say when it will be released or what label it will be on just yet, but we have been talking with a few different labels about distributing the next album. As far as gigs go, we've been getting offers (way in advance) for next year's festivals, but we wanna be a little conservative about how much we play before the new album is out. We'll wanna do a proper world tour when the record comes out next year. In the meantime, keep an eye out for those impromptu local shows that we inevitably do when we're trying out new material live.
I would have to think that they're high on most festivals's lists this year - it's kind of refreshing to hear they're not just going to accept all invites - I like to see each festival's lineup be a little different and not have all the same bands.
That being said, Bonnaroo probably has the most clout and would be perfect for them to get some pre-album exposure. On my list, they're going into the "strong possibility" category.
They may be personas non grata with Super Fly after posting on their website last year that they were not going to "save" Roo with their presence last year. Or maybe they just wrote it off as them being Ween...

Since they showed up at Vegoose, Superfly must have no grudges. I'd still wonder if they would really play 'roo for a third time. If they're going to play anywhere, I would expect Coachella (if they're offering), since Ween has never played there.
And why are they looking for a label? I thought they had their own label, Chocodog?
