Anyone else heading up there to Hunter Mountain? I'm going by myself from Binghamton.. which kinda sucks although at least it's close... i don't see how anyone can miss out on this killer lineup with the Biscuits playing as good as they have recently. Let me know if any inforooers will be there.
Not going myself, but check out Quagmire Swim Team while you're there. They're a local band here, and I know some of the guys. Quality up and coming band for sure. They were in the latest Relix issue as well.

Hell fricking yeah im going. How could anyone not? I even bought 2000 glow sticks for the occassion. I just hope thye make it to my house on time. I've heard some good things about Quagmire. I saw a Brothers Past latenight show at NuGroove a few weeks ago and it was by far the best BP show i've seen or heard. I suggest anyone who even has a possible chance just suck it up and go!
I want to go but I gotta choose between that and moe.down and I'm gonna go with moe.down. Both are the same distance from me but I like moe.downs lineup better and I can only do one. If I could do both I would in a heartbeat.
Is anybody who went to this back yet? I'd love to know what went down this weekend. All the reports I keep reading say that security was out of hand like at Wakarusa. 200 arrests is what I've been reading so far. Not sure if it was over-invasive security or really stupid people. I'm gonna guess a mixture of both. I'd love to hear how the music was too. From what I've heard Shpongle put on the best show.

Just got back an hour ago! It was awesome. Security was certainly tight, but it wasn't out of control. They did hardcore searches when you went into the venue area. That was really about it though. And even so you could easily get small stuff in, you just had to be slightly creative. The music was AWESOME. Highlights for me were Shpongle/Younger Brothers, Brothers Past, The Roots (they put on a GREAT show), the Duo, and Lotus. RJD2 and Thievery Corp was also really good. I didn't see one show i was disappointed in. Ohh and i forgot to mention thursday night Moshi Moshi was incredible
Glad to hear it was a good time. People seem to make it sounds worse than it is, about the security that is. Searches into the venue are to be expected. I always laugh when people bitch about being hassled for doing illegal things. I mean we all have our fun but you can't complain if your not careful and you get caught. I'll have to try and hit this if they have it again next year. Glad you had a good time and made it home safe.

FYI. I have talked to a bunch of people who are now claiming that they were completely hassled both in the campsite and in the venue area. People claiming that cops just randomly came up to them and searched them and stuff. I personally didn't see any cops anywhere besidse the venue entrance. I also forgot to tell mention that Thursday night someone apparantly through a tent stake through one of the security/volunteer people's truck window as he was driving around. My buddy talked to the guy and said he literally could've been killed if the stake had hit him in the head, and that they were gonna haev a ton of state troopers the next day. Im not sure if that was actually related to the stake incident or not, but im sure it didn't help us any. But again, i didn't ever really feel threatened, you just couldn't be quite as open as bonnaroo, but i didn't see any waka-style night vision goggles. Though it was creepy that every cop and some of the security guards had guns on their waist AND their leg. It seems like they were expecting violence.
ya i talked to some freidns and they had some issues. apparantly she forgot she had some stuff in her purse and went through the cops. they busted her and sent her to a police processing tent that they had on site and they made her do a bunch of shit and now shes supposed to go back for court. that sucks. i hate festies that arent completely contained on private property. the pigs shoudld only be doing traffic not venue security. oh well i guess ever since those hippies got high and flew there imaginary space ship into buildings the police dont have anything better to do. i know i feel safer with half the police in the state standing in a circle trying to stop people from having fun.

I didn't see anything happen and I imagine it was just stupid people looking to get into it with the cops that did have shit happen to them. I walked in the venue with a bag of pot each time in my pocket not hidden at all and didn't have anyone stop me/say anything to me. It might just be security people that didn't like the way certain people looked, etc... but I would imagine that there were probably a lot of people there trying to be "hardcore" and get themselves arrested as well.
There's too many damn drugs on the bisco scene anyways. I would absolutely love it if it could somehow stop and fans that go for the music are the only ones there.

BTW... Spongle = best. setbreak.ever.
views at hunter mountain were gorgeous
Medeski and the Itch are really fucking awesome
Tdb showed some promise as it was a much more diverse show than usual... they didn't have the balls out 100% energry/trance music but were definitely trying to experiment with their playing style and become more of a rock band imo...I think also the song selection was very strange as they really didn't play any of their heavy hitters/best songs except for King of the World, Crickets, and I-Man. The Air cover was sweet though, as was hearing Posford rock out with them on Gamma Goblins.
To any of you reading this unfamiliar with Sphongle, go out and and acquire Tales from the Inexpressible right this moment.
