Every year there are a few bands at Bonnaroo which are built up with crazy word of mouth hype in the year leading up to the festival. For instance, this year it was Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. In the past, bands like Iron and Wine, Ray LaMontagne, and The Mars Volta. A lot of these bands end up being excellent additions that you can see a mile away. I thought this would be a great place to hype up and coming possibilities for 2007. I know a lot of people on this board listen to a lot of music and have heard some of this stuff, but for those who haven't, I submit for 2007:
Tapes n' Tapes Band of Horses Destroyer Little Brother Brightblack Morning Light
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
That new Brightblack Morning Light album is totally pleasant, but a bit monotonous...I think I need to get ripped and try again. I saw Destroyer a couple months back and could totally see a Thursday slot or early afternoon during the weekend tent set. Mr. Bejar totally gets it done in the live setting.
On a related note, I saw Destroyer open up for Magnolia Electric Company who would absolutely burn a few 'fros if they showed up at Roo next year. If anybody wants to get adventurous and give MEC a listen, here's a totally quality boot...
nice idea for a thread. i'll hyped the local boys, Pnuma Trio. They are new to the festival scene, but currently making the rounds. i expect 'em to be on the road to bonnaroo in the coming years. Maybe not next year though, unless they are in a cafe stage or something.

Arcade Fire has to play one of these years. They've been hyped for years now, and they have a new album out soon. Spoon is another one. And I for one would love to see a Sigur Ros late night show.
Sol Creech Band is another that would fit in perfect. Sol used to play guitar for Taj Mahal, and has struck out on his own now. That guy can tear it up. Its a erally funky jam blues.
