when he didnt sing 'i wish it was the 60's i wish we could be happy..' was that on purpose? was he maybe thinking the crowd would sing it? anyone with a closer view than me get a glimpse of what was happening on stage? just curious.

i noticed that too. maybe he was just adlibbing or changing the lyrics. alot of artists do that...
yeah, there were some technical problems during the bends...two times during the song, thom motioned angrily towards johnny's side of the stage, almost making a "cut it" motion with his hands...at first i thought he was trying to tell johnny something, but i think maybe he was motioning to someone off stage...i think the sound guy who does their in ear monitors stands over there, so maybe there was something wrong with the monitors....that said...that was the most energetic, rip roaring version of the bends i've seen them play

Why does Thom write songs he doesn't like?
Well, I'm sure that alot of musicians write things they dont like...and I dont think he doesn't like the song, just that particular lyric. Everyone grows out of things they do.. I dont like some of the art I created when i was younger, but I loved it then
They sang the line in Chicago, 3 nights later, so I'm pretty sure it was a screw up.
not to sound like an @ss or anything, but they did mess up a few times. The National Anthem, the bass comes in without the effect on, stops, then restarts with the effect. Then they had to restart Karma Police. And finally the said mess up in the Bends. Not too shabby though, 3 minor mistakes in an all-around TOP NOTCH show.

I did notice some tech. problems all weekend, though thats to be expected. With the amount of bands and the vast difference in their sounds, it must've been very tough for the sound guys. Anyone notice during the Oysterhead show that Trey's mike was too low for the first few songs, then they finally upped it halfway through?
My buddy from Jersey and I must have suggested firing half the sound guys during Roo, but as someone just said, it must be tough to work sound for five different bands per day. I kept saying, "you get what you get and don't have a fit" smooth sailing that way
He did use the alternate lyrics at the end of Myxo.
I caught that while singing along. But the flub during Karma Police seems to be the most obvious one. I don't mean the one in the beginning, but the one right smack dab in the middle, when he gets a little ahead of himself on the piano.
It's ok. They played 30 freakin songs. Can't complain.
BTW there's a line in 'Creep' he changed, also. It's the one where he sings, "I want a perfect soul, I want a perfect body." I can't remember what he changed it to, though.
