Seems like the biggest knock would be the weather in the winter outside of winter sports activities. We got lucky here. Converse to what I said yesterday, if all remaining states are good tier someone is getting fucked with 16.

I’ve only been to Rochester, MN, for a conference at the Mayo Clinic, but it was nice. It was neither nicer than Hawaii nor less nice than South Dakota, however.

Didn’t that city have a run of best places to live in the country during the 90’s or 2000’s*?

Unexpectedly one of the all-time great music states. Great summers and I like the cold, so the winters would be fine for me. Currently on a progressive politics bender. If I had to move to the Midwest and Chicago were off the table for some reason, the Minny Apple would be my top choice.

Great point. Prince, The Replacements, and The Jayhawks do lessen the sting of placing this above Hawaii.

Bob Dylan, the Hold Steady, Low, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis,Atmosphere/the whole Rhymesayers scene, Babes in Toyland, Dessa, Doomtree, Har Mar Superstar, Morris Day & The Time…it’s a fairly lengthy list.
