my logic for leaving 20 open is because I hate Mississippi so much that I can't risk it not being at the very bottom. Willing to put something that doesn't deserve it at 20 to avoid MS being at 18.
Texas is a big enough state where I can see people applying varying criteria to it, but Connecticut is a top state. Not sure what the argument there is unless it's a 1%er thing.

I feel like there was a prominent inforooer that once described Connecticut as a glorified interstate rest stop between NYC and Boston.
Florida has plenty of issues - bad politics, alligators and pythons, rednecks, chumps, douchebags, shitty roadside attractions, clogged highways and shit. But it’s got some of the most natural beauty you can find in our country and most of the world. White sand beaches, hot and cold springs, jungles, hundreds of islands, the Gulf and Atlantic, some crystal rivers, incredible theme parks, cool cities like Jacksonville, Orlando, St. Augustine, all of 30-A, Key West, Miami, Sarasota, etc.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

The Florida round should be the most fun round by a mile... I hope Florida is in this thing first of all, and I also hope we have to decide between significantly different placements. Would suck if only 3 or 4 are left or something like that.

I mean parts of it would fit that bill, but a good chunk is made up of well to do and picturesque areas that border those two cities.
you're wonderful but CT is mostly a boring impediment between Boston/Providence and NYC, filled with white people who love working for insurance companies

I’ve never been there but all I think of it is rich white people, UConn and ESPN.
So, I lived in Connecticut for 30 years. My family is from there and Massachusetts. I know the state very well.
If CT or my current home state of Rhode Island popped up, we kinda screwed up because y'all put Oregon and North Carolina where CT/RI should be.
Eastern Connecticut has a lot of small town New England vibe. Northwest of Hartford is basically Stars Hollow.
Education is top notch. Taxes are lower than in NY and NJ. There's a lot of very wealthy people living there. Politics are solidly Democrat, though not as progressive as other states. They're very good in pizza and basketball too. There's a reliable train service on the corridor from New Haven to NYC.
But yeah, it's definitely sandwiched between Boston and New York - and overshadowed by those two. Traffic is a nightmare, especially on the side closer to NYC. Cost of living is well above average. Income inequality is high. The beaches are better in RI. The old mill towns are either struggling to revitalize or they've turned MAGA.
New Haven pizza is incredible, but if you try to get it between Friday and Monday, you're almost certainly gonna run into ridiculous wait times and/or closed restaurants
