So glad they moved it to the weekend AFTER Mother's Day. There were some hurt feelings about that conflict the last two years.
Who would you like to see next year? I'd be happy with Sufjan, feeble little horse, Yo La Tengo, bar italia and (a man can dream) Soulwax
Any changes you'd like them to make? I could do without the music in the VIP lounge by the main stage. I'd prefer being able to hear the main stage acts even faintly or nothing at all vs the out-of-place DJ music this year.

Tame Impala Arctic Monkeys The xx Florence + The Machine TV On The Radio Bloc Party Foster The People King Gizz Beach House MGMT Foals Nation of Language Goth Babe Dehd Geese Everything Everything Kiwi Jr.
Thinking’s at least 1 of for a headliner The XX, Empire of the Sun or Glass Animals all three have new albums coming
XX seems like a gimme. I don’t think EOTS would headline - sub at best.
Considering the set up I think EOTS would close out Lake Stage just cause of visuals and such. Them on at 6pm with the sun in their faces on Kilby Stage wouldnt be ideal.
Fix the sound issues and hopefully the merch thing and they should be pretty much good to go.
I could see st. vincent playing next year. She was on the Kilby Court Hall of Fame piece at the fest. Also, definitely hoping for the xx. Did everyone fill out their surveys?

Definitely happy they moved it off Mother's Day weekend, so my wife can go next year.
Filled out my survey. My only negatives were merch lines, sound bleed, and I feel that since they partner with UTA, they should have more trains running after the fest. Forgot to, but should have mentioned the Desert Stage.

Link please cause us media folk dont get such things. And Doja Cat was on the wall so lets do that. jk
Soundbleed is gonna happen when a fest is this small and you are going back and forth like that. Unless they had the room to fit Desert Stage next to Kilby Stage and have it all on opposites sides of the grounds then its unavoidable. The issue only happened when the sound was actually ''fine'' which was just on Sunday on a consistent basis. Dino Jr getting done as dirty as they were was such a bummer cause that def wouldve drowned out Lake stage easily. They did a good enough job where the quieter acts were on Mountain when Kilby was running so it wasnt too bad. Joanna vs Andy Shauf was the ideal scheduling for example so they would have to do that sorta thing again next year if theyre doing like for like and not fucking with an artist like that.
While they may not be able to eliminate sound bleed, it seems like they could do better. Sometimes the Desert Stage act would drown out the Mountain and sometimes the opposite would happen.

it was Desert and Lake at the same time, but yeah I had to go all the way under the speaker stack during Dino Jr to not have soundbleed. Even on the left side of the Desert sound booth it was like 40% Lake and 60% Desert for that show. It wasn't so much an issue at Pond though

would love to know if you thought sound bleed and stage layout was better or worse last year. I don't think I'm sold on their placement of Mountain; I liked that it was grassy but I think I preferred the layout they had last year.

I misspoke and said Mountain when I meant Lake, as pointed out above, but I'd say that the new layout lessened the sound bleed between Mountain and Kilby/main stages compared to last year, but the sound bleed between Desert and Lake was worse this year even though both were in the same spots as last year. I don't remember sound bleed being too much of an issue last year but it was definitely an issue during some sets this year.
I liked the new layout better but wish they'd do something to improve the Desert stage. There's no shade there and, aside from maybe the early-afternoon sets, the crowd has to spill around the food/drink stands, forcing you to stand further away.

I wasn't there last year but to me it just seemed like Lake was loud as fuck. Also it would be sick if Desert became a tent but they might need to rename it 😂
