I think Paramore is a lock, but they’re definitely in that Saturday “dual headliner” role where they might be closing the festival but there’s another similar tier name next to them. That’s why I was going with Jack, as I think at this point in his career he’s in that QOTSA level tier act for festivals in the US at least.

Paramore is definitely big enough to solo headline Shaky, they have 21 million monthly listeners on Spotify which only trails I believe Green Day, Tame Impala, Hozier, and Noah Kahn in bands or artists that have played Shaky before they even beat out the Foo

I do think Paramore is capable of this. I also don’t think that just because an artist has a lot of listeners on Spotify means that they are a great draw. Paramore has more Spotify listeners than U2 and is not far off from Bruce Springsteen or Metallica. There is definitely a generational element in play here that has to be weighted. I’d really like to know how they make that distinction when developing festival lineups.

their arena tour sold out and the day they headlined boston calling was packed. If RTJ, The xx, Phoenix, Jack White, and The National can headline. Paramore absolutely can

You may be right. I was trying hard to jam someone who is actively touring into that nostalgia/Billy Idol slot. Joan Jett, Blondie, Simple Minds? I refuse to write Morrissey.

They come back with Piedmont Park as the new location, and move the festival to September, thereby being able to have the same weekend as Riot Fest and also share artists with it.
MMJ was empty I get that they’re the namesake but just give them 1:30 on Piedmont. Cage had to do 4/$80 to fill Ameris, Jack probably headlines?
He’s got Paramore right tho. After the drop out, they locked them in for 2025.
Not a good crowd for MMJ in 22?
no but tbf that might have be in part because Sweetwater 420 was the same weekend that year so they were “up against” Oysterhead and JRAD so not the fairest comparison.
I’m sure Tim would love to get Oasis and they would be perfect since the “leaked” US dates doesn’t have ATL, but they are too big. We will get whatever Linkin Park without Chester reunion instead.

Oasis has about a 3% chance of making any US dates before they implode as per the usual Gallagher brother nonsense. Seems very risky for what I suspect is an astronomical booking fee. And revamped Linkin Park (with Deryck Whibley maybe?) seems destined for the Danny Wimmer circuit.

Deryck just confirmed that he is not the new lead singer seems like the rumors about the new singer being a woman might be true

That’s the popular thing to say, but there’s no evidence to suggest that’s the case. In fact the only evidence suggests the opposite. Noel and Liam have already gotten together for a photoshoot where they had “electric” chemistry (quote from someone on their team who was there) and were laughing with each other and making jokes. They will also be heading to the studio to record a new album in November, as has been directly confirmed by Liam. Strap in, get used to them being back. They ain’t goin’ anywhere
