It’s been almost 2 months since the fest. Anyone heard anything?
Nope. I believe we have passed the usual time where dates for the following year are announced. Needing to leave Central Park due to the Civic Center development plan is an issue. Hopefully we will get something soon regarding dates and a (new?) location.
The festival taking a year off after I finally went and fell in love with it would be fitting. Sorry for doing this to you all.
Seems like one of the possible outcomes. Although "taking a year off" is usually code for done. I find it hard to believe a fest would go from selling out multiple consecutive years to calling it quits. In terms of changing locations, Piedmont Park seems like a slam dunk since there is precedent in hosting similar events.
I must confess I went down a bit of a rabbit hole yesterday. You can look up Atlanta special events applications online. As of yet there are no applications to host SK at Central, Candler or Piedmont Parks in 2025. In years past, the application has been submitted as early as July but as late as November. You're welcome for this ultimately useless info.
Tim told me the fest is coming back, and that the Pittsburgh fest was going to be cancelled. He was right about the second one, so I think we’re fine.
That’s good news. You know we visit from out of town and that’s really the only reason I’m a little anxious. Have a couple of hotels to hedge location and 2 different weekends locked up using hotel points right now. Just hoping for an announcement of at least the dates so I can free up half of those points asap. But I guess the location has to be locked before they can lock the dates so I get the challenge on Tim’s end for sure.
Shaky Knees promoted a Jack White show at Terminal West in ATL on 7/31 on their insta. Same with Tim himself.
Could we be getting an SK date/new location announcement on the date of the show? Maybe naming JW as an early headliner? Otherwise, why bill it as "Shaky Knees Presents"? Interesting.
Yeah I saw those alerts from SK pop and figured it would be the 2025 dates. I’d be all over what they actually announced if I could make it work though.

Tim confirmed to a friend this week that there will be a venue shakeup for next year's Shaky. All he would say is not Centennial. Probably Piedmont I'd guess.

I’m already locked in to coming down there cause I met someone and had festival love, but I’d probably just be hitting after shows if this was anything close to the top 6.

its a board of hundreds of users so yeah some of them are gonna be full of shit but I heard Paramore and got some positive reactions to some other acts
