You won’t be sorry if you did. Unless you have aversions to 50 year old white dudes ,with beards, who wear black all the time.
is this one of those fests thats at different venues around the city and you can't really see as many acts as you expect at a normal fest?
Yes it is a city festival but an easier one. The farthest apart venues are a 15 minute walk at most. Most are under 10. If you split it up to North/South it’s less than 5. There’s a shuttle but I’ve never taken it but know it’s there.
The biggest problem is capacity and getting in before that but they’re pretty good about sending alerts if it’s one in and one out.

My days are always packed. Almost wall to wall. Takes planning and running shoes but I am constantly seeing music for four days.
I ran around a lot but also had a bunch of stuff I wanted to see end up in one venue. I only missed one show I planned to see because it was at noon and I didn’t expect it to be full by the time I got there.

I have nightmares about getting into the Bijou on a big name. I’ve noped right the fuck out after seeing lines.
You can make several schedules and not stick to any of them and come out having an incredible weekend.

I never thought Trevor Dunn would have been that big of a deal but I guess it made sense with everyone else that was playing that he’s associated with.
lol @ me assuming this festival would be relatively cheap
As the names have gotten bigger, the prices have increased exponentially. Then post-pandemic, they’ve gone through the roof. This is imo but I feel like they’re pricing out people who haven’t been before. Coughing up $400 for a ticket for a bunch of stuff you may not be familiar with is pretty extreme and the textbook definition of disposable income. Add flights, hotels, food, drinks .. you can easily spend over $2k on a festival that may or may not be worth it to you.
I’ve figured out how to do it cheap enough (minus tickets) that it is. I also know like 90% of the names and know what I’m getting in to.
Great lineup! are there more Uber drivers around now? Not being able to get an Uber in 22 and basically no public transit is the biggest problem with the fest imo

Uber situation was okay in 2019 when I went. Was it really that bad in 2022?

Yeah, I got ratfucked by this in 2023 bigtime when I got stuck at an afterparty in the "burbs" and ended up walking all the way back to my hotel.

flight got in at 11ish? Didn't get out of the airport until 1am thanks to a sketchy private car hire.
