here's a fake bonnaroo 2024 review just so i can pretend i was there:
WEDNESDAY: me and the boys rolled up wednesday, got a great spot in pod 90. we did what we do and got out the car and immediately keyed a busch heavy as is tradition. we was ripping bongs and smoking that shit. rolled up to teddy's DJ set (always a highlight of the weekend) and got up with the INFOCROO. had a blast but the party ended when we got back to our campsite and it had been completely destroyed by thieves. they stole all our shit but luckily we had our busch heavies and blunts locked up "tight in the Tahoe" as they say so we were still good to go for the weekend, unfortunately our ez up was destroyed and most of our clothes but we still had our tents!
THURSDAY: not gunna let thieves get us down we slept in the mud and woke up bright and early to a beautiful bonnaroo sunrise. it was hot though man!! y'all know it if you were there. we tipped up those beers and kept on truckin as they say. rolled into centeroo around dos o'clock to catch Michigander who is a musician, then eggy for that jamband groove then on to Say She She which was the surprise fun set of the weekend. hit up the ferris wheel meetup and absolutely clocked some fools then smoked a lil' baby blunt to get hype for Pretty Lights (2 Sets) 8:30am-12:15am. pretty lights played all the hits and it was one of the greatest roo memories we've ever had. unfortunately the party was short lived, after chris lake we got back to camp to find it was completely destroyed (again) by thieves. we had setup our tents and they were either smashed or stolen. turns out we was smashed to though so all good, happy roo to all. and as is tradition we had several cases of busch heavy and about three-four dozen lil baby blunts locked up tight in the Tahoe.
FRIDAY: we slept in the mud using a bong as a pillow since we didn't have any clothes or tents left but woke up to a beautiful bonnaroo sunrise. happy too to all. hit up brunch with the INFOCROO then was on to Mdou Moctar to hear that guitar music. other highlights of the day included david "kush"ner and Joe Russos Grateful Dead Band. post malone brought the good vibes and we keyed a busch heavy. LATE NIGHT t-pain was the way, after TMV shredded our brains we headed back to camp aglow with a bonnaroo day. unfortunately our vibe was taken down a notch or three when we got back to camp and the little bit of shit we had left was stolen by thieves or completely destroyed, also they stabbed the tires of the Tahoe with a knife so there wasn't any air left in them. can't let it get you down when you're at roo though, we ended up just sitting on the ground and enjoyed a busch heavy and a blunt and talked about how great the day was.
SATURDAY: we slept in the mud using crushed busch heavy cans as a blanket since we'd been wearing the same clothes since wednesday. woke up to a beautiful bonnaroo sunrise in that HEAT, high fived our neighbors and dropped trow to shit in the earth. and piss. moseyed into centeroo for a great day of music, starting with brittany howard who ruled and then jon batiste where we saw ambassador of fun on the rail. great seeing you bro! then on to whyte fang and the peppas, i'd never seen the peppas with JOhn frusciante so it was good. late night was diplo > pretty lights and it was the best set i'd ever seen. all aglow on drugs we high fived and headed back to camp, unfortunately the party ended when we found our camp site had been destroyed again by thieves. we didn't have anything left but they kicked the mud around and dug into it so it was wet, the groundwater seeping up through and getting everything wet. but we were hammered anyway and laid down in the wet wet mud to get a good nights rest, knowing we were good for saturday with our remaining busch heavies and blunts locked up tight in the tahoe.
SUNDAY: awoke to a beautiful roo sunrise and found that during the night we had been robbed by thieves. they took our wallets and slapped our asses so we had red asses and no money but we had all we needed to wrap up the perfect roo, the three B's: my boys, my busch, my blunts!! rolled into centeroo and then the rain came through, rain delay party! headed back to camp and dropped trow and took a dump. headed back in for jason isbell and FRED AGAIN. wish he would've brought skrillex out but it was a great set and we cried because we are so tired and dirty. however the party came to a halt when we headed back to our camp and the headlights and all the windows on the Tahoe had been smashed by thieves. luckily we had burried a blunt in teh mud so we pulled that out and sparked it and talked about what an amazing bonnaroo we had. rolling out wednesday, sunburnt and with the wind coming through the completely smashed windshield is a memory i'll never forget. thank you bonnaroo and thank you INFOROO this is a top 20 bonnaroo for me easily.
I wondered why you and your boys smelled like poop, but I didn’t want to be rude and ask. Thanks for clearing it up.
honestly got home a few hours ago, and still haven't "cleared it up". i know i should shower but once i shower its like my final goodbye to roo 2024. just can't let it go.

I get it. I’m still wearing the same pair of underwear I wore to my first Roo in 2019.

Edited to add full review!
This was a very special year for me. I camped alone for the first time ever which was a really cool experience. I met so many more people than I typically do, including a handful of you folks on Wednesday which was a great way to kick the festival off. My friends that came this year camped in RV, and they’re folks I do love but I’m not especially close with, and I would have had to park in overnight weekend parking which sounded awful so that’s why I opted to do GA camping solo. After 7 years of having friendly neighbors that ultimately we didn’t interact with much, I finally had some kick ass neighbors this year which made my camping experience very fun. They were Roo vets ranging from 3rd timers to 13 year veterans and so helpful, friendly, and hilarious. They were happy to sort of adopt me into their crew and I spent a lot of time at their site instead of mine. They’re definitely friends I’ll be making an effort to meet up with annually going forward. And got lots of ideas from them for the campsite setup in years to come. Plaza 9 is also my new favorite camping spot. It’s close enough that the walk to Centeroo is not bad, you’ve got the Jesus tent, nearby Plaza 3 food and vendors, but also secluded enough that it’s quiet enough to get decent sleep.
I missed more shows due to heat this year than any other year which was a bummer. But, the older I get, the more prone I am to going to Centeroo later in the day anyways. You folks who go in early and stay til the end of the night are stronger than the US Marines for real, I wish I could go that hard at Roo but whenever I try that I end up in misery.
Best surprises as far as shows- Pretty Lights Thursday & Fred again… both were so much better than I anticipated! Especially Fred. Also Cigarettes After Sex was a nice vibe Saturday night, went because a friend wanted to catch some and we chilled there for a while and I was into it! Also as much as I hate to admit it, what we saw of Melanie was pretty cool.
I strengthened my relationships with the people I did know this year in a way that made me very happy. The RV gang included my sister’s brother-in-law and his wife plus some of their friends. We got to really connect in a special way and I feel like I have genuine newfound friendships with them. Also when you’re registered as ADA at Roo you get to register a companion as well and I got to do that this year for one of my friends and I gotta say that was very nice too. I didn’t utilize the viewing areas because I didn’t want to take up space from others that actually needed it, but using that short line to get into Centeroo was nice af lol.
After PL was so good on Thursday, Friday felt a little lackluster but I still saw some great shows. Khruangbin was my set of the day. Overall though the shows from Friday probably wont be ones that stick out to me as the years go on but I’ll still remember how much fun I had that night with my friends, one of the best Roo trips I’ve had. I liked the Saturday lineup more than a lot of you did so this was a great day for me. I had a really close spot for Ethel and I’m glad I did because others have said the show was quiet. I didn’t have that issue though, and I don’t think I’ve ever cried that much at a performance. Had some really intense and beautiful moments, something I’ll remember for a long time. Wish I’d had the strength hear more of Brittany Howard but it was too fucking hot. Loved Cage & RHCP though. We crowd hopped a lot that night before Cage and after Peppas so I ended up seeing bits and pieces of a lot of other acts too.
My Sunday review already said pretty much everything I have to say about it- best Sunday here byfar and a great way to close the festival.
Other thoughts- * The signs directing the fastest way to Centeroo were great and honestly could’ve and should’ve been implemented years ago. They should really expand on this and do the same for nearby Pods and WITW. * Since I missed much of last year idk if this was a new change or not, but in 2019/2022 there was for SURE more shade in Centeroo. Idk why they’d change that but they need to put more shaded spots in the venue. For the love of god. * I didn’t utilize it but it seemed like they’ve finally figured Jamtrak out- did anyone attempt at all?
^ zac told me y’all got to hang for some shows. We tried to find y’all at several of them to no avail even if we weren’t 25-50 feet away. I only even ran into him when they got to camp and at one set which might have been Mdou Moctar. If I go again next year I’m going to make it a point to meet you.

We were both at Teddy’s DJ set but I guess we didn’t talk. But yeah Zac mentioned that as well, I wanna meet you next year too!!!
Anybody get some celebrity sightings? I know a couple people mentioned standing near someone in the pit. Only one I can recall is late Thursday after PL and at Roisin Murphy Derek and Borahm Lee waked by and I said hey and shook hands with Derek. But I didn’t recognize any other musical stars or actors/big timers but you know some were up in there except I’m pretty sure I saw Shmaeens and Jesus Coomes in pit in VIP for PL Sunrise. I knew they were on the farm since our friend picked them up at Nashville Airport. But we were thinking they’d sit in but instead were probably guests.

not really a celeb but I was accidentally in Platinum at one point and ran into my favorite local band from Gainesville, Madwoman. I've talked to them a handful of times but I don't think they recognized me. We chatted for a few though

I saw you a few times so there’s another star. First time was either Wednesday or Thursday night and you had a bag of wine and were 100% trashed with a big ole happy smile going. Get it.

I've mentioned it a few places but Brittany Howard was right behind me in the Renee Rapp pit. Was loving on someone and seemed to have a little entourage

Four Tet was standing right in front of me for the first few songs of Megan Thee Stallion’s set. He was telling the guy next to him how disappointed he was his set was stopped short, he tried to go back out but Roo told him they had to set up for Galantis.
Eek- on a not so awesome note, I just tested positive for Covid if you’re thinking you have wook flu you may wanna grab a test to be sure…
Yeah, it's weird seeing a bunch of posts on reddit from folks who are, like, "I have a sore throat, fever, fatigue, and nasal congestion...is this wook flu?" when COVID is out there still being a real thing.
So sorry you've joined the Caught COVID at Bonnaroo club. Hope you feel better soon.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

This is the first I’ve ever tested positive for it! It was a good run while it lasted haha.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Really hoping Lolla moves her to one of the main stages.
The one she's on rn only has one smallish screen and is notorious for sound issues due to the lakefront breeze
The stage she's on can utilize the whole main field diagonally, I think it'll be fine. Won't disagree about the sound issues though. I hope she gets moved too
This was asked in the thread last year, what’s the one lyric you’re most looking forward to singing at the top of your lungs?
For me it’s EVERYBODY’S HANDS GO UP…… ANEYSTEYTHERRRRR
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day. You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown. Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Forgot about this and got my wish. Thought it would be Pretty Lights, but it was Greensky Bluegrass. Hopefully that’s up somewhere I can find.
