Chili Peppers mileage for me is totally the Frusciante effect. I love watching Frusc and Flea and Chad go off so I really enjoyed the set cause they did that a lot. The new songs are fine - they played too many, but I like them better than most of the hits lol. ‘Heavy Wing’ is the best new one and they played that, so that was a win for me. ‘Me and My Friends’ for the old guard ripped.
Idles was the set of the day though, maybe the weekend. Killer. But I said the same to myself about Jon Batiste earlier - was in the pit and that set was pure enjoyment for all (artist and crowd). Total Roo magic set.
Cage was solid - I’ve seen them a lot so was only partway engaged but they sounded great. I melted (physically) in the Brittany Howard pit but it was worth it. Ethel Cain was good but I was pretty far. Cigs After Sex are a nice mood but a little same-y to me so I was happy with the 20 min I saw. Watched 10 min of Diplo and heard PL in my tent. Real good day.
EDIT: almost forgot -Infinity Song was a great early set!
About half he Peppas set was good. The other half Anthony kiedis was singing.
Parcels was awesome. I thought some of the transitions were awkward, but when they're in a groove, they killed it. Unfunkiest funk band?
My phone restarted and is acting all fucky so I can't send/receive group texts and discord isn't updating at all. Was gonna try to meet Alex and everyone at PL but the crowd seemed packed and I didn't trust my eyesight lol. Thursday set was a lot more fun. This one was a bit more uneven, a bit more unexpected, and at times sorta boring. But there were some great highs in there. Made it back to camp around 5:45? Fred sound check at 9am was loud AF and very bassy.
I'll look for anyone at irreversible entanglements, BBNG, and CRJ. Then I'm going home to see my kids before they leave for camp tomorrow. Wanna stay for isbell but I've seen him enough and the pull to see my kiddos on Father's Day is stronger than I expected.

My friends and I had a lot of fun at RHCP I thought PL night 1 was a lot better, I wasn’t that into his set last night but still layed around with my friends til the sun came up.
Ethel Cain & Cage were my favorites of the day yesterday, Cage was a party and I cried through much of Ethel Cain, very beautiful performance. Parcels was sort of underwhelming for me but I didn’t listen to them much before the festival, although my friends had a fun time!
Overall a good day, the lack of engaging (for me) late night shows this year is kind of a bummer though. Thundercat was nice but besides that ehhhh.
That being said I’m still having a lovely time I have the best neighbors I’ve ever had at Bonnaroo and since I’m camping alone that’s been really great. Excited for today
Ethel Cain - decent performance not the best sound
Brittany Howard - put a lot of heart into her show. Got pit rail for that.
Jon Batiste - great performance, didn’t get to see Sean Paul
Cage - always fun to see and a solid show. Fairly massive sub-hl crowd but they have a lot of cross appeal.
The Garden - better in person than on tv
Knock2 - a bit cheesy but hit on a lot of subgenres and styles.
RHCP - ignored them
Parcels - watched most of this. They touched on a lot of different types of music from jazz to indie to pop to some groovier shit. Crowd was into it. It wasn’t bad on the side of the tent but crowd went far bavk in the back. I enjoyed it and was ready to turn shit up.
Idles - caught last 30 minutes or so. Crowd was hyped. I liked this show much more than when I saw them last year. Opinion on them goes from neutral/meh to kind of fun.
Diplo - big show that the crowd was into. He teased some hard stuff but mostly played house and pop. So it was annoying to me a lot of the time though I still had fun.
PL - freaky set that started with the whole band who left the stage after a couple songs. Derek mixed after that for a while then brought Menert out to play a few songs. Finally the band all came back to finish the show where they went back to sunshine and finally Goodbye Blue Sky which is what they started Thursdays set with, closing the circle. Abstract in parts but excellent. I was thinking of it like a PL fan’s PL show. Large crowd in the thousands was still there for the end
So far PL Thursday is an untouchable top 1. Key Glock, GWAR and PL Sunrise stand apart from all the other sets I’ve seen though there has been lots of good shows. It feels like it’s in the mid 90’s so I’m going to lay back a bit instead of going in early. I had a lot I wanted to see today but I’m not gonna be miserable. Best food so far was a two piece white and fries from Gus’s yesterday. They had just finished a batch which was fresh hot juicy and perfectly fried. May treat myself to another one of those today.

Havent watched the Thursday set yet but this sunrise set looks dope.
Still more partial to the STS9 set from last year but that's another conversation. Enjoy your last day everyone and drink unfathomable amounts of water.

Armand Hammer > Irreversible Entanglements > BBNG is giving me serious fomo. Hope everyone's having a blast and not getting heatstroke during Chappell Roan!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
