Dates have been announced for this year. September 27-29th. Enjoyed this venue much more than Sea Hear Now.
I hate AJR but had a good time attending friday in 23. Who do y'all think will be on the lineup this year? Billy Strings, Weezer, and Sublime with Rome all seem like reasonable gets
E: I hate OAR so much I fucked up their abbreviation 😆

Keeping an eye on this, too. We enjoyed SHN in 2021 and 2022, but it got so pricey (especially local lodging) in ‘23 that we went elsewhere.
Hard to get a read on who’s in play for late September, but I think we can count on another good “adult alternative” lineup. Just wild guessing at top 2-3 lines: Killers, Stevie Nicks, Hozier, Black Pumas, OAR, Leon Bridges, Revivalists, Guster.
Adding some solid breaking indie/alt rock like: Steven Sanchez, Thee Sacred Souls.
Would love to see some less “safe” choices, too, like: Wet Leg, Wednesday, or Ratboys.

I would hate to see the Killers there but I've come to the conclusion I'm going to like 1 headliner at this kind of fest. Any more is a bonus. I like all your suggestions though. I'll have to do some digging for some deeper cut undercard artists as well.
In response to the lodging being so expensive. I went to 1 day of both SHN 23 and OC 23. Instead of hotels we camped at state parks around 30 minutes away for the venues for $25 a night. If that's something you are comfortable doing I highly recommend.
I probably will attend this year. It was a toss up between OC and LIB for 2023. Should have went with OC, but whatever. I think Trey Anastasio Band would be a top draw as a headliner for this festival. But then would they give TAB 2 sets?

I think you're right about Trey band. If they did 2 sets I bet it would be broken up by an opposing stage artist since there's still a curfew around 11.

Noah Kahan has no Baltimore/DC/Philly dates on the upcoming tour, so I think there is a possibility he's headlining
Would love to see some collection of AF, Cage, Gary Clark Jr, Goth Babe, Khruangbin, Leon Bridges, MMJ, Nation of Language, Thundercat, VW, and Yves on the undercard
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

Where'd you stay near OC?
Assateague is forever unavailable. I go to Pocomoke river state park which might be 40 minutes from inlet. Then just find a free spot on the bayside somewhere in the 10-20th street range.
Same thing for SHN, there's a closer state park that sells out dates quick and then one 30 min north called Cheesequake.
Both state parks you can find a spot for the dates you need the week before without any issues from what I've seen. Pretty much always have some spots available at those no matter the date. It's far enough people don't consider making a drive but since it's a beach fest that ends early I'm not worried about rolling into camp around 12am.

Sweet thanks. Yeah we look at Assateague a lot and its booked a year out at least.
So do ya'll still think a late March line up announcement is in the cards? I am getting hyped for this festival. I vacationed in OC MD as a youngling and am looking forward to going back. I mean Thrashers French Fries for the win!!!

It was announced around St Patrick's Day last year so figure on around there. This was really well set up last year for a first festival. It was pretty cool ALL the amusement rides were included, no extra charge. A word of advice though, it definitely gets packed the closer you get to the boardwalk. I'd travel closer to the beach to get to the main stages. The areas around the spot marked "walkthrough" was a nightmare in peak times.

I expect this lineup to remain mostly radio friendly stuff and nostalgia acts. Basically just recreations of the Sea Hear Now lineups. I'd love to see some of the stuff you'd see at Shaky Knees. Since this sold out last year I wouldn't expect them to change much and book a highly billed act that the average music fan isn't going to instantly recognize. So Trey or something like that is probably unlikely.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
I see the Black Crowes are going to tour in the Spring and then Europe. Which would free them up for Oceans Calling....but having been a Crowes since since Shake Your Money Maker.....they may not make it the entire tour...so i would love it if they played. you just never know with those brothers

I expect significant crossover with Bourbon and Beyond. Given crossover with other Sweetwood products, this festival, the dates, you can pencil in a large portion of:
Dave Matthews Band Beck Beach Boys Matchbox 20 Mt Joy Young the Giant The Wallflowers The National (not as likely) X Ambassadors The Head and The Heart Fleet Foxes

There was zero crossover between last years lineups, why do you think that would change this year? I see a few artist overlapping at most.

Oh for real? I was making assumptions based on the schedule and target demo for these artists. These are exactly the type of artists I'd expect to see.

Dave makes a lot of sense. So do the Wallflowers. I would prefer someone like Beck but I have a feeling OC won't lean that direction on musical tastes.
I would be surprised if Foo Fighters isn't one of the headliners.
I can definitely see that. I was kinda surprised that there wasn’t a DMV stadium show announced since they never made up the MPP dates. Maybe they are trying to do DC Jam? I can definitely see them playing SITW and making up those MPP dates though

The Wallflowers played this year...but i could see some of these on the line up. I could also see Brittany Howard maybe on the line up. She's got new material coming out and is playing a lot of festivals this year. Side note...her voice is amazing and her sitting in at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction for The Weight...good stuff!!!

Anybody think Paramore is in the cards for this?
Ooooo might be able to get Shell down if they are.
I feel the lineup this year will have some of the same acts that were announced today for the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival. So I suspect that The Black Crowes, Head and the Heart, Offspring and Soul Asylum may be some names come March.

thought Paramore was done for now? They already cancelled a fest and was replaced with KOL

It was ambiguous what was going on, or at least from what I heard people were saying they didn't break up. I could see them coming back near the end of the year to headline a few fests if it was just a hiccup.

A theory that I saw behind their cancelled ALTer EGO and South American festival appearances was because they lost their tour support and funding when they left Atlantic. We'll see what happens with the Eras dates

Vampire Weekend looking like a very real possibility to headline/sub on 09/29 based on tour dates. VW and Foo's/RHCP would be an incredible pair of headliners if booked..
Of course, if Firefly does happen this year the same weekend as OC then I'd say Firefly picked up VW.

I saw that too, although it would be 4 nights in a row for VW. But going from Philly to Ocean City to DC wouldn't be very difficult. Firefly isn't happening. I'd wager any amount of money against it at this point.
