I have wanted to go to this festival for over ten years and could never get a ticket since it sells out in hours (if not minutes).
It went on sale this past Friday. At around 2:30am Friday night/Saturday am I saw some thing on the internet about Forest and said "man I wish I could go to that." Checked the website and wouldn't you know... tickets were still on sale? I asked my husband and friend "should we go to this?" which they said UM YES DUH ARE YOU KIDDING. And it was easy and seamless. And they sold out 6 hours later.
Like WHAT?! Best drunken purchase ever. Holy shit. To say I'm excited is an understatement. This is my bucket list festival that I never thought I could attend. I just wanted to share and see if others were as hyped as I am because damn my whole outlook on life in general has improved lol.

I went in '19 and '22. It's fucking incredible. I'll make it back someday but it's impossible to do it on back to back weekends with Roo. did that in '22 and never will again.

Yayy thank you! I've been watching videos on YouTube and just marveling. It seems like it's a truly special experience. I feel like it only compares to Bonnaroo and maybe what Okeechobee tried to be (albeit on a much smaller scale). Or Hulaween, but I have never been so idk, but... better for the soul? For finding yourself? And that sounds corny and shit but everyone I know who had the privilege of going says it is life changing and personal. Which I am in need of tbh. I'm driving 21 hours for this so I hope it's what everyone says it is. I am still pinching myself that I'm going

Hulaween rivals it in spirit but ive never been anywhere like the Forest. Pick the night you like the music the least and just walk around all night. It's hard to describe. You'll love it ♥️
Excited for the Pretty Lights return, the new Psyren project, Subtronics, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, Gigantic Nghtmre, and Cannons. Just saw Caspa at Okee and will catch him again.
I've seen a bunch of others a few times and can take it or leave it (mainly heavier electronic like Excision, BTSM, Wooli, ATLiens etc) which leaves more time for me to check out the vibes.
I don't really listen to the more jammier artists but I'm down to check them out.

Forest closes at like 4am unlike Bonnaroo - but the campgrounds stay alive. Keep your ears peeled for secret/RV sets. In '22 I saw a subtronics/john summit b2b at a fucking camper lmao. It was packed, but still.

Oh! Also, fest food is great. But there's a little wooden house in the campgrounds that sells just like... Bacon egg and cheese biscuits and grilled cheese and stuff. At regular prices. Really good to just recenter after staying up all night. North West central campground area

Umphrey’s Cheese and Biscuits all good live though Biscuits are unpredictable. Barclay Crenshaw is Claude Von Stroke’s project under his real name. I think it’s a little bit of mixed genre but maybe more techno? 3post1jack1 will know. Eggy is a jam band out of Connecticut. I tried to catch them last year at a local fest Goose did 2 nights at but they were just finishing up when we got there. People were talking about them last week on the Bonnaroo thread. Maddy O’Neal runs in the PL circle. Dumpstaphunk is a New Orleans band fronted by Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, Nick Daniels and Ian Neville. Alvin Ford Jr. who drums for Pretty Lights used to be with them for a while as was Nikki Glaspie (Nth Power, Beyoncé).

My understanding is Barclay is more hip-hop focused than CVS. I've watched a few clips looks like a fun time.

Yeah I love Dirtwire. That’s David Sartori of Beats Antique’s other project.
esteban I'm always impressed by your specific member to member knowledge of bands. Is that through osmosis or are you researching?
Thanks man. I’ll research what I don’t know for a festival I’m going to. But there was none in that post. I grew up in the album era and mostly listened to OG progressive. Those bands took a lot of time to write what they wanted in the liner notes which you didn’t get with tapes or later cd’s. I always read them through and learned who all the specific musicians were in the bands I loved, what they played and how they were different from other musicians who played the same or similar instruments. So it was always a habit that if I liked something musically, I’d go all in learning about who was involved. It’s a lot easier now with the internet, but that’s the root. For that specific post, I’ve seen Umphrey’s probably 20x, Biscuits 7 or 8x, Dumpstaphunk probably 7x over the years. Flea shouted them out at Bonnaroo 2012 as an act he caught the night before (also shouted out St. Vincent who I had never heard of before he said how great she was at that Bonnaroo).
Our friend was able to get two GA tickets on the site the day after they sold out. Be warned that they are much pricier... like by a lot. They also need to be paid in full before being listed on the exchange (ex: ppl who can no longer go but were on a payment plan), so check frequently/closer to the date if you don't see anything yet. I believe payment plans end in April so there could be a bunch listed then.

So I listened to a bunch of Dirtwire this weekend and wow. They do fuck hard. Haven't heard anything like it. Thank you for my new must-see!

Legitimately on the top of my list now. I love it. Happy New Year indeed.
They won’t disappoint you and like you said it’s not really like much else. Kind of blues sounding EDM but lots of cross-genre music and different sounding instruments. What I didn’t know was that they had 9 albums. I’ve seen them but don’t think I ever listened to their studio shit. So that will be a project for me this year.

Just found out LSDream and Clozee changed their project name from Psyren to LSZEE. (Which fits better tbh.) I guess copyright issues? EF has not updated their lineup to reflect it yet.
Mid tier - G Jones, Hiatus Kaiyote, Libianca, Sara Landry
Support - baggi, Boogie T, Brandi Cyrus, cannabliss, chaos in the cbd, DJ Susan, emo night, equanimous, h&rry, ivy lab, jenna shaw, jjuujjuu, kiltro, layton Giordani, levity, little stranger, maesonic, marsh, mojave Grey, neoma, odd mob + omnom: Hyperbeam, only fire, polyrythmics, proxima parada, rayben, redrum, shae district, super future, swaylo, thought process, tripp st, unusual demont, zen selekta
I guess I'm old cause I don't know most of these people but HOLY SHIT G JONES.
I don't think Seven Lions is headliner status tbh.
Boogie T and Ivy Lab are good.
My buddy mentioned that Tripp St is a must-see. Never heard of him so I had a listen... and WOW. He's really, REALLY good. Like what the "slow heavy space wubz" stuff has been missing if that makes any sense.
