what the hell happened to K-Pop? I very rarely see any of the stans or any mention of the artists on social media anymore. is this just my algorithm or did it lose some steam?
The stans are definitely out there (source: I know a few), but on the American charts they haven't really been successful at propping up groups other than BTS and its various members. A lot of groups still put up absolutely massive streaming numbers, but honestly where K-pop generally has made its biggest inroads in the past year or so in the US is in the live music world. Part of the reason why Blackpink's 2019 Coachella appearance felt so remarkable at the time was that K-pop was a huge growing market and almost none of its groups had played in the US and now lots of them do, often at quite big venues (in Chicago it tends to be at Radius but they show up elsewhere too). Last year I wanted to get tickets to see TWICE and got shut out of getting on the list to get the chance to buy tickets for *multiple* dates. There's certainly less media attention around it as it becomes a bit more normalized and less novel but K-pop is still a really big deal right now.
(edit: as a sort of related aside, Spotify isn't widely used in South Korea, so that affects streaming numbers as well too when you take a look at groups on there)

Twice literally just had a number 1 album on the top 200

just #2? ONCEs should've been working harder smdh.
Wheres the K pop. And too much edm. Theyll have one edm in top 8 and thats it. Why you forgetting Noah Kahan anyway. Killers not that possible cause it wouldnt even be a Hot Fuss show. Thats a waste. Theyre already around chicago in Sept for the possibility of Riot Fest. No need to stop in between europe and vegas for lolla before rehearsing the residency.
So which k pop artist is likely at this point?
The Killers are around Chicago in September for what? Don’t they have the Vegas residency? Seems like Lola is more likely than riot
You think Noah Kahan will return that quickly? You think he takes the killers spot instead?
I think this year we have at least 2/3 of justice, skrillex, fisher. Maybe we still get all three but fisher drops out of headliner designation and is in the Fred again spot for billing
The Killers have 2 festivals a week after Riot Fest in St Louis and Maryland. Why do anything before the residency. Vegas residency ends Labor Day Weekend anyway. Twice would prob be the one they go with. Considering Noah is hitting up every single fest known to man and Alpine Valley means nothing cause its LN and it wouldnt matter for a Bud Light headliner anyway. Remember since they sell single days there will be a decent amount of people who would go.
So maybe its this.
Sza - Hozier Doja - Noah Blink 182 - K Pop ????? - Justice/Skrillex
Was messing around with a potential Pitchfork mock and noticed that Amyl and the Sniffers arrive in the US on July 12 for a festival in Seattle before playing a couple dates opening for the Foo Fighters. The dates don't really make sense for them to play Pitchfork...but they've got Lollapalooza weekend wide open and are notably not playing any of the other Foos dates in the Midwest that weekend.
Eric Prydz is playing VELD it seems as a one off. But wonder if he’s gonna do HOLO just for VELD or if he will bring that setup to lolla as well. Seems expensive to bring that whole rig for just one show
tbh doesnt seem like a lolla booking. it was just at arc last year and unless they have some big revamp of either perrys or grove, i cant imagine him doing HOLO.
closing perrys w a regular dj set seems probable though

The Hives too. They both look likely though maybe Amyl & The Sniffers a little bit more because they're playing Osheaga. But they both have that gap in opening for Foo Fighters.
I'm leaning towards it being real. Shakira, Blink, SZA, Luke Combs, Hozier, Skrillex and Justice seems like a set of headliners Lolla would book in 2024.

if that leak is true, this could be my return to Chicago lol
So, Dominic Fike gonna headline these festivals next year? Sheesh.
i had a weird gut feeling after that brockhampton vid promoting him that he would ascend to fest headliner/arenas but it still feels kinda surreal seeing it happen

mod in the comments says it's fake
But reddit mods also said that about the cum leak 🤔

I personally know who made it and they have no connection with the festival they just like making mock/fake lineups and they’re very good at photoshop.
