Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've heard a positive rumor and a negative rumor in the past few months. So I really have no fucking clue. If this is back in June, they would have to say something soon to at least put out the confirmed dates.

Writing was on the wall but it’s still sad to see another one bite the dust.
Firefly was my first fest almost 10 years ago (what an insane sentence to type).
It holds a special place in my memories with it being my first but I doubt I would have gone again barring an insane lineup. It was a good fest but imo it’s just an inferior Bonnaroo.

Sad to see this one go. Was my first music festival and I felt like the 2022 lineup was a big step in the right direction, adding back Thursday and throwing in some really cool undercard acts I hadn’t expected firefly to get… regretting not attending 2022.

It's really unfortunate because the location is fantastic, and it's the only larger scale (multi-genre) music festival in the Northeast quad of the country. You pretty much have to drive to Roo or go to something smaller like Peach.

yeah, logistically it was setup to be the Lolla of NYC/Philly, they just kinda gave up on it

Agreed- great location which regularly hosts 150,000 parking/camping for NASCAR events, a morning’s drive from NY, Philly, Baltimore and DC area. It was my first festival, too (2013, first of five Fieflys) and it was magical seeing so many great bands with a large, enthusiastic, positive-vibe crowd. Firefly showed what it’s capable of by selling out 2015’s edition at 90,000 weekend passes (no dailies). I’d like to think they’ll reorganize, rebrand and return to become the major festival of the east.

Two Redditors are claiming that the festival is happening and that it’ll be 3 days, taking place between September 27-29. That is the same weekend as Oceans Calling. Take that with a big grain of salt lol

I booked a hotel room just in case. The closest hotel is already booked full lol.

That's kind of an interesting move. Both fests have different demographics but some overlap, especially with being so close in location.

No way in hell they do it the same weekend as Oceans Calling. Gotta be a joke. If they actually did that they are doubling down on stupid and this is why the east coast can't have nice big festivals

That would be incredibly stupid to try and compete with Oceans Calling, which would be the same weekend and have a lot of the same type of artists. Oceans Calling will 100% sell out, and I'm sure much like me a ton of people have already booked hotels/Airbnb and are 100% locked in. Not only that, but this late in the game a lot of the Firefly target demo has bought tickets for Roo and/or already committed their festival funds elsewhere.

You inspired me to book a room too. No downsides really.
As for competing with Ocean's Calling-there's definitely some overlap but the lineup for OC is definitely geared toward an older crowd than Firefly. I think both could co-exist.

They probably could coexist, but it would seem really stupid and unnecessary on Firefly's part. At the very least it would be really disappointing for us on the East Coast that don't get many festivals like Firefly OR Oceans Calling, and have to choose.

Bummer, I always wanted to go back to this festival after attending in 2016. The location is great and they seemed to always book a lot of undercard/small indie acts that no other festivals were grabbing.

Nice to see they didn't rule out a return. Perhaps they weren't comfortable with the artist commitments they could get. It's not like most American summer festivals this year have been selling well...

It took a number of missteps and bad luck to get here. The 2019 lineup was pretty bad and they dropped the Thursday, I think that caused a lot of people to jump ship. Then COVID happened, and they scrambled to try it in September in 2021. They lost out on the school kids and anyone else who can take off for summer. They tried to half ass it in 2022 cutting corners, and now here we are.

Sad to see this one disappear. Firefly 2012 was my inaugural festival experience. I got into the scene way later than most around here. Enjoyed it through 2015, then it just wasn't the right fit as much anymore. I still looked for the yearly lineup with anticipation, thinking maybe I had one more go in me.
The only time I went to Firefly was September 2021 and man was it emotional. It was my first festival after the pandemic and the hurricane forcing Roo to cancel. Thursday’s forecast was for a storm coming through, which it did, and I had visions of another cancellation. Thankfully, it only caused a (significant) delay on Thursday, but by the time the gates opened and the first act was on (Girl in Red at 8 p.m), I was such a mess. Experienced complete emotionalrelease - felt such intense happiness for finally being together with everyone for something I enjoy and had missed so much. Schedule was compressed, so missed some sets due to rescheduled overlaps (I.e. Phoebe Bridgers), but I was so happy it didn’t matter in the least. I saw Turnstile and the Hu (and part of Billie Eilish), and I was (and am) just thankful it happened at all. Great day and the rest of the festival was amazing. Really hope it comes back.

Same experience here, but starting in 2013. That lineup was amazing for my gang’s tastes. Our introduction to festivals (well into “adulthood”) proved they weren’t all overcrowded, mud-fest, garbage-burning shit shows. Also enjoyed 2014-15-16 and 21 but didn’t care for the lineups past that.
Holding out hope a new promoter brings a good multi-genre festival to the Woodlands in 2025.
