The loudest and rawest Jack white solo record being played in a tent in a folk fest, feels like exactly the kind of statement that Jack would like to make. To your point, it’s counterintuitive, which makes it interesting, which makes it a headline. Much like “Jack White releases surprise solo record on vinyl given out for free” and “Jack White to perform at local Legion hall” both of those things are interesting and very on brand with a guy that likes to keep people guessing.

It’s also a fest that has salsa, traditional Native American music , hip hop, pop and poetry readings. Why not garage rock as well. Wednesday isn’t far from what Jack is bringing, genre wise. I think the reception and response will be very positive, and best of all, I think Jack will have fun. It’s refreshing to watch an artist have fun, take chances, and go left when everyone’s looking right.

Seems somewhat Obvious that Noah Kahan will be at Newport. Heard from a tour manager at High water fest several months ago that Hozier, Conan, and Kahan would all be there. Make up show from last year. Have fun everyone. Sad to miss this year

Well hopefully it’s during Hozier, since I’ll be dipping out anyways.
Maybe Kahan backed out again and that’s how we got Dave and Gillian as a headliner…

Question for you guys. I have 2 sat+sun tickets and we have an extra couple coming with us on Saturday but won’t be able to arrive till later in the day on Sunday. They could theoretically log into my Dice account on Sunday and scan the tickets in when they get there right?

I do think Dice is locked to your phone though so you may need to 2 Factor Authentication at the moment they log in from their device. But I could be wrong.

I realized I have already won the bet. If Noah Kahan plays, I get a beer. If Jack White plays I get to listen to Jack White instead of Noah Kahan. It is a can't-lose situation.
Exceopt for the Lucius scenario. Then it is lose-lose.
