Does anyone have the list of guests at the 2016 Your Song Changed My Life aftershow? I'm making a concert spreadsheet many years too late and my memory is failing me. I remember Ryan Adams and Nathaniel Rateliff. Beyond that I think I'm blending other aftershows in my mind.
Don't have a full list, but remember Julien Baker being there (think she played the Quad for her NFF debut that Sunday). Also, Bob Boilen introduced Newport to a new up and coming DC-area artist named Lucy Dacus.
Already mentioned this in the BC thread, but just putting here that I hope Andre 3000 does live shows for his new experimental/instrumental flute album and Newport Jazz is included

Hey all!
As we approach 2024 Folk Fest ticket day and all that fun shenanigans, our 2nd half of the Gull & Stars family has bailed on this year, so I'll have a pair of tickets available for anyone who misses out! Hopefully someone will be able to use them!

Wonder who they'll get for the All-Star Tribute to Robbie Robertson.
I recently listened to Robbie's book from a few years back knowing that my love for Levon would probably make it a difficult read. I figured that I knew what I was in for, and it would be worth it for the insight into the music I love. Somewhere between talking about being Jimi Hendrix's favorite guitarist and the scene where the other members of the band BEG him to take their publishing rights because of how little they contributed to the music I found myself hating him more than ever (and to make it even better the book ends with the Last Waltz with no sense that he realizes the irony).
The crossover in the past few yearS has been minimal with FloydFest (Just Neal Francis and Sierra Ferrell in 2022) sans last year, which, if it were held, would've shared MMJ, Goose and Nikki Lane with NFF.
However, I could see S.G. Goodman, Sierra Hull and Sierra Ferrell all making the jump to NFF. I think Black Pumas possibly, but they're in the middle of promoting their latest album and are probably commanding top dollar; Newport almost always grabs artists like that during their off-year.

Are they not one of those bands that would take a pay cut to play Newport? I know it’s a complicated thing. But the fact that they played in 2021 as an unannounced warm up set before traveling to Chicago a day or two later to play Lollapalooza makes me think they’re in the NFF “in” group.
My biggest hope for crossing over is Charley Crockett. Last time he played he was on the Harbor, I think he’s ready for the Fort stage. S.G. Goodman has showed up in some capacity each of the past 3 years, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see her on the lineup either. Sierra Ferrell and Pumas would be great again, but I’m not sure if they’ll be back this year. Has Sierra Hull played yet? I think she would go over really well at Newport.

Yep, twice.
Folk on year and Fort in ‘22
Are you sure you’re not talking about Sierra Ferrell? I know she played both years, I don’t remember Hull being at either of those.
They both played Big Ears last year and I showed up to the Hull show thinking it was Ferrell. I ended up seeing each set and was blown away with Hull. Happy mistake.

I don’t think Hull has had her own set recently but I’m pretty sure she backed Brandi and/or Dolly up as part of that headlining set. She may also have played the fest back in her child prodigy days in the 2000s.
