Answer your texts. I know you saw it as soon as it was sent.
counter take: it's ridiculous and dumb how we're essentially expected to be on call 24/7 because we all have phones constantly attached to us.
^^^ this.
i keep my read receipts on which some people find insane, but it makes it so that i will only open texts when i actually have the time/desire to reply right then - and for fellow iphone users, they'll see when i have versus have not opened a text.
my bf has an android so he can't see them, but he's not a big texter anyway and routinely doesn't reply to texts for hours especially if during a work day. some people would hate this, but i vibe with it sooooo much more than partners in the past who have been like "IS SOMETHING WRONG?" after an hour of my not yet replying.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Switching from vibrate to no sound re: notifications on cell phones was definitely the right choice for me. I'll get to it when I get to it.
i have most group chats muted and dip in and out of Do Not Disturb on my phone a lot. esp when i'm just trying to go for a walk and listen to music. godsend.
My phone is on do not disturb and the only “favorite” I have to bypass the DND is my best friend because I’m going to have a nephew in the next week or so.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Bringing your kids to the bar is generally seen as socially unacceptable, but if the bar makes their own beer it's a goddamn McDonald's playplace in there
my very favorite local bar (that also happens to be a brewery) literally had to put up posters at their establishment & post a message on their social medias stating:
it was getting out of control. kids just running around screaming, falling down on the floor near the line of people waiting to order a beer--all while parents were nowhere near the gremlins. so glad they decided to name the issue & deal with it directly.

Its definitely a culture thing, growing up it was pretty normal to have family party's and bdays at bars with all the kiddos. Thay being said it was normal during the day and it was always neighborhood bars were everyone kinda knew everyone
Films have gotten so inaudible to the point that you almost need subtitles to read/hear what people are saying, I feel like directors do it on purpose.
Yeah. And why the fuck they gotta keep making remakes of movies that ain’t that old to begin with?

i think bringing your kid to a brewery in the afternoon where you will be DIRECTLY watching them and keeping you close to them at all times is fine.
allowing them to wander off, run around yelling, start games of tag with other kids in the establishment...all of that is just a hell no. and i've seen all of those happen before at breweries, with parents either laughing it off or taking forever to get their kids in line.
brewery staff are not babysitters. if you bring your kid(s) to a spot like that, you need to be prepared to actively watch / take care of them to an extent that they are not negatively impacting or interfering with staff or other customers.

I have literally stopped seeing people who would text me, not get an answer for an hour or two because I was busy or didn't have the bandwidth or whatever, then text again implying I was ignoring them or asking if they did something wrong or restating their original, non-urgent text, which just makes me want to answer even less
Read receipts are the devil. Sometimes I want to see what was said but don't have the opportunity to respond; and similarly if I've seen you've read something and haven't responded I'll start to wonder why.

For those overwhelmed with text notifications, I can personally recommend having no friends who are ever interested in talking to you. It's blissful silence all day long.
There is simply too much advertising/marketing, no matter where we look we’re getting bombarded with ads
At Roo especially it's starting to get to me. Everywhere you look you're bombarded with branding. Like Rina was onstage with a beer like "I have to have a Corona but pretend it's a Bud Light". Pretty sure the survey had more questions about branding/marketing than it did the musical experience.
Oh this also seems like the right thread to say that the crowd at Tyler Childers this year was NOT THE VIBE.
thank youuuu (sorry yes i am catching up slowly on what's already been posted lol - didn't click on this thread til a few hours ago for the first time(
abrakapokus and i tried so many different pockets of the crowd, and all were either actively bad vibes or just really meh energy. one angry chick almost wanted to fight us because we deigned to (accidentally) step on like the very edge of her blanket as we walked by, that she'd chosen to put down on the ground in the middle of a huge ass crowd.
that was the worst interaction by far but a lot of other people were just like standing there, arms crossed, seemingly not having fun at all? a very few were smiling dancing, but it was such a small percentage of the folks near us - so we ended up dipping really early from the set. was a bummer, tbh.

I think this is the genesis of Sang’s problem with people not responding to his texts tbh
Back in my day when you were a tipped employee, it was because you were actually providing customer service with a decent amount of skill - not handing me a bag or pizza.
Also your dogs don't need to stay in an temperature controlled environment 100% of the time. I get bringing them in for severe weather but they aren't as fragile as you are. It isn't animal abuse to have a outside/farm dog.
definitely not. what IS animal abuse is the ones that are chained up or locked in tiny little pens all day with no interaction. god that makes me so so sad to drive by.

It also didn't help the Which was way too quiet, so I really felt the necessity of working my way into the crowd. I had like a weird interaction where I got separated from the people I was with and I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't hear other people say stuff also. ACL chair people vibes. I'm very interested in seeing Tyler in a better venue.

The guy who fixed our AC the other day said people will actually leave theirs on ALL DAY for their dogs. I love my dogs, but no. It doesn't even get that hot here!
