Loved it. With a couple rookies and they were blown away. I thought the Kate Bush cover was a total surprise. Heavy on it still moves and Z. Exceeded expectations.
Pretty much a perfect setlist for someone's first Jacket show in 2023.

That show ruled. Loved both covers, and they really showed off some great extended jams with Phone/Steam/Spring/Run Thru/Lay Low. Wasn’t in pit but was up in front of the soundboard and it wasn’t crowded at all but everyone around us was very invested in the show. Stunk to miss Korn but I’m happy with the decision to commit to this show.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
My gf and I saw them 5 times last year and they jammed harder Saturday night than I’ve ever seen from them (10 times now). They went in ! The covers were bad ass, Feelin Alright was fucking epic. Phone Went West, Cobra, Steam Engine drum solo at the end was filthy. Black Metal ripped and so did Love Love Love , which isn’t my fav studio cut but dang it ripped on the farm. Between Tyler and MMJ Saturday ripped. Also lol to the spunion after Jacket yelling My Afternoon Sweater running around the field after the show.

That Phone Went Weat was fucking gorgeous. I’m grateful that they didn’t lean hard into a “high energy only” kind of set. It’s ebbed and flowed and had some some beautiful psych moments. Loved it. Shocked we got nothing off of the first 2 records, but it’s hard to complain about that set. It was killer

If anyone has ripped the Youtube vid and feels up to sharing it, please hit me up in the DMs. Apparently the method I used to use via VLC doesn't work any more.
Around 8 pm Saturday night came down with awful stomach issues. Still not 100%(not sure what it is). I was stuck at camp from 8 pm sat until I managed to go in to catch the foo fighters. Kills me I missed the set, but there’s absolutely no way I was going to make it through. Finally looked at the set list and looks like you guys got a great one.

Hey jorgeandthekraken - try this out. This program has been insanely easy and a godsend for me. I hope it never gets shut down.

A great setlist with many of my favorite live songs and so many awesome extended jams. Wish I had just set up for the pit and not given folks I was with edibles that made them tired but still a great time with many awesome memories during the show. It went by too fast!

Got in the pit and was the best show I've seen them do since their Circuital tour. It was great meeting Jake Jortles and Cookin' Mama the line. Seeing "Golden" with my wife was just sublime, I thought about leaving halfway through and seeing Korn, but I know I made the right decision.

See you soon!
The other person in line was Cookin' Mama though lmao

Surprised this was their first time playing Feelin Alright, that just feels like such a slam dunk obvious cover for them in hindsight.
For the third time me posting this but damn that cover was filthy !
I missed the covers but holy shit for me when I realized I saw an hour of MMJ after JID. That's hot.... and we stayed up after going back to camp to sts9
So is that always how they play Phone Went West live? Have never seen a song that I already love become that much better live.
my first time catching it live as well, blew my whole entire mind. A week out now, gonna Relisten thanks to Deto and see if it was just the sand or if that was actually a top 3 show of my life

Jim was singing Songbird by Fleetwood Mac somewhere in there. Not sure if they always do that? I just looked at my setlist.fm and I’ve only seen them play it 3 times.

There's been just a few other scenarios where Jim has sang an interpolation of another song during the outro/crescendo of PWW, all post-COVID:
Red Rocks 8/27/23 - "We'll Meet Again" by Vera Lynn, set closer Dillon (CO) 8/24/23 - "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", show closer Forest Hills 9/10/21 - "Everyday People", middle of encore
I was at all of these shows actually and the coolest by far was Knockin' on Heaven's Door because they really extended it out (more than even usual).
Red Rocks on 8/3/19 was absolute insanity, PWW went about 20 minutes and they added this whole different middle section that was chaos and Jim just sang a medley of Beatles lyrics - mostly Get Back/Hey Jude over their jamming, but not the same interpolation structure. They also did a 30-minute Steam Engine that night and a 30-minute Dondante the night before - Jim was on one those shows, worth listening to.
The thing that made this Roo PWW unique was the ending of the song, it had the original (pre-2011) ending, around the 2011/2012 timeframe they really extended the ending of the song and took it in a new direction.
One of the first instances of this was Red Rocks 2012:
Hope that helps, Roo was my 41st Jacket show and that PWW is at the very top of renditions of it that I've seen/listened to.

Well that answers everything about that. Now tell me how they played it the 3 times I’ve seen them play it. 2011 in Alpharetta, 2013 at Lakewood in Atlanta and at Fox Theatre in Atlanta in 2015.
