well it seems they didn’t move criminal records because they couldn’t use the area. Must have just moved it for logistics. It is kind of nice to just walk right to the other stage.

Maserati was actually awesome. Arcade Fire was the most into it crowd I’ve seen so far. A ton of people left after AF. Great day and night. Enjoyed the shit out of my first day at this fest.
Not there but I’ve seen that at a few festivals now. It’s mostly overlooked as long as you’re not a dick about it and smoking in a crowd of people.
When they did Landmark years back, I did actually get refused entry because of cigarettes but waited 10 minutes, picked another line, and walked right in.

Btw if you want a close spot at piedmont just go to the VIP entrance past ADA and walk along the fence. Got a very close spot for Arcade Fire in a dense crowd and didn’t have to obstruct anyone’s view. Going to try and make the same move at QOTSA tomorrow.
Didn’t see a bad show yesterday. Left after a couple Noah songs to soak in some AC before Miike Snow. Centerstage was a cool venue and they sounded great. Arcade Fire for only an hour, plus whatever they played when the speakers were cut, was not enough. Can’t wait to check out the Masquerade and see them again tonight. Did anyone go to Palace last night? I thought we were getting another cancellation, just wondering how they sounded. Gotta decide if I’m seeing them and hiking back to QOTSA or just catching girl in red and sliding over.
Arcade Fire and Pond were my favorite sets of the day. Should be another good Ponce / Criminal Records run this morning. Tigercub confirmed they will be here too btw.

Super convenient just moving from Pond to PPP to ATW but man yesterday I missed the shade that previous Criminal Records stage had. Wine Lips started late (almost 8 mins of their set was spent messing with the monitors) but we're really good. Spent nearly the entire day on Civic Center side hope to chill a bit near Piedmont/Peachtree today.any switch foot fans will be happy to know that the bassist was hanging out w his son in the sound tent during Wine Lips and was really digging them. I think it's cool when other bands can be seen out in the festival grounds digging music like fans. PPP all walked over and watched ATW after declaring them one of their "fav bands" so it was cool they weren't just BSing. Winona Fighters bassist is so ripped he might have the vegan police come after him.

Tbh the main change I would want is for them to raise the Criminal Records stage a few feet higher. It’s on a small hill so if you’re not on that hill it can be tough to see past the crowd. And I think the crowd is larger than in the past because why would you not just walk right over from Ponce.
Met the backup keyboardist for All Them Witches yesterday at Ax and the Hatchetmen. And then after getting back to the hotel I took the elevator up with Yves Tumor which was cool! Always seem to meet bands or celebs at Shaky.

One thing I find interesting is seeing some of these guys out of context and how it is more difficult to recognize them. I’m a huge Pumpkins fan and took me up until I was right on top of him to realize Billy was about to walk past me. Just us. In a Vegas hotel hallway. I did not go full super fan.

that’s awesome! I always second guess myself when band members are roaming around. Last year the main guy and girl from Grouplove stopped and stood right next to me and my friend side stage to watch Peaches. And Charlie Heaton was in front of us at one set years ago. Saw some other smaller bands roaming around in the past too. I’m surprised all the times I haven’t had a celeb freak out yet. I’m sure it will happen with someone I really like tho.
Burgundy Sessanta shirt and orange cord Shaky hat today. I’m sure I’ll blend in since I saw so many people with either this hat or even this same shirt yesterday. But my nails will be painted burgundy too and my face will also be bright red even tho I applied sunscreen twice yesterday. The shrooms made me sweat it all off. Come say hi if you see me! I’m nice and will just be normal high all day. My friends might be cool or might be the most obnoxious people there.
Girl in Red and QOTSA were both absolutely incredible.
We went to that Girl in Red set kind of on accident. Neither of us had heard of her and we planned to just watch a song and go find something else. Ended up watching the whole thing and loved every minute of it.
