I haven't seen Weezer in (checks notes) 25 years. I'm just glad age has not stopped me or Weezer from rocking out bc the blue album is something that I played the hell out of in HS and college. I hold a dear place in my heart for it. That said, if they play Beverly Hills I might just leave right then and there
Beverly Hills will be played on any tour you attend. Be warned and prepare yourself for 3 and half minutes of audible terror.
Shaky Knees subreddit has emails where their other US tour dates are cancelled and list it as due to to Visa problems. If you go to Pigsx7’s website, all their tour dates for May in the US (except Shaky Knees but I’m guessing that will be taken down soon maybe) are gone.
This sucks. I don't recall this many cancellations in the first 5 years of the fest but the last 3-4 years has seen cancellations due to 'visa issues' every damn year. So these bands not have competent management?!

Especially odd in this particular case because like Wu said, they just wrapped up a run of US shows in February.

The US is really weird with Visa’s. I just figured they’d hang around between their last shows and now just because a ton of bands do that. Maybe the upcoming tour wasn’t planned when they got their original visa. That does really suck though.
Well that sucks. I was going to see Pigs x7 in Nashville too. Hopefully the replacement is on par. And hopefully this isn't the first of a few other out of country acts having similar issues.

Man this still sucks. Pigs x7 was one of my top 5 Friday acts, and they were on the top 5 for my bestie. Crossing my fingers for the same on both those hopes. Though, the deadline is tight. Who are some Stoner Doom (or even similar) bands that could fit the vibe *and* make it on short notice? IDLES are out because they're doing 3 shows in Canada that whole weekend. black midi is also out because there's no way they'd be able to get a visa in time and I imagine it'd be a lot for a one-off show.
Some bands/acts on my mind who could fit the "lots of energy" bill - some of whom are touring: Jeff Rosenstock (probably the fan favorite, fingers crossed) Mdou Moctar (would maybe need a Visa) nightlife Knower Daikaiju Nolan Potter's Nightmare Band Mastodon (They're GA local and could pull in a Killer Mike but I doubt for a slot that early) The Melvins Sleep (Doubtful though, lol)

The Melvin’s are from Washington. They are coming back to the US off a tour before Buzzo does his solo thing later in the year. That would be a replacement I’d accept.

edit: correction, Melvin's would not need a Visa.

I will seriously put Sleep in my top 10 if people join me.
Don't worry I'm sure we'll get the sleepiest local "indie" band you've never heard of to fill that slot. Hell they'll probably just move Winona Fighter up and that 1:30 slot will be the soundtrack to you grabbing some noodles

Imagine someone asks you about the one band on your concert t that takes up like 10% of the text and then you get to explain to them that actually they weren’t even there.

Looking at Welcome To Rockville folks again for potential fillers. Militarie Gun? At 1 month out, we may be looking at local bands getting a chance or just getting unfilled slots. Especially that early Friday TBD.

Look, I know Nolan Potter's Nightmare Band and Daikaiju are in Texas, but that's not too terrible of a drive. Right? Right?

Militarie Gun would make a lot of sense with all of the other multi genre festivals they're playing this year

Looking at the lineup: would be cool to get L7 but they're probably too big for that time slot. Realistically they could get Bob Vylan and they would match the intensity/fun that Pigsx7 would have brought (albeit completely different musical style)
