What are you looking to pick up Saturday? I'm always up for Miles but it looks like those are just first releases. Probably looking at Eno, Blakey, the William Hooker and the Soul Jazz offerings. Trying to stick with exclusives and limited runs. I need to look at it closer in the next few days.
Any suggestions? Anything anyone really wants others to watch out for to pick up for them? Check out the list below. RSD 2023
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
In line at my tiny little store in town. Anyone need me to grab something for them?
Here’s what they have: Allman Brothers (2) - Tori Amos (2) - Bjork - Black Keys - Bluey - Eric Carr (3) - Cranberries - The Cure (3) - Miles Davis - Death - Dio (3) - Willie Dixon - Dr. Who (3) - Mikey Dread - Duran Duran (2) - Emerson, Lake and Palmer - Fleetwood Mac (2) - Garbage - Jerry Garcia Band - Grateful Dead - Groove Armada - In This Moment - Jason Isbell (2) - Jazz Artist Guild - Joan Jett - Billy Joel (2) - Elton John - Norah Jones - BB King - Carole King - Kittie (2) - Macho Man - Madonna (2) - Paul McCartney (2) - Eddie Money - Motley Crue (4) - Motörhead (3) - Mr. Big (2) - Nena - Stevie Nicks (4) - Ted Nugget (3) - Ol' Dirty Bastard (2) - PM Dawn (4) - Dolly Parton (3) - Pearl Jam - Peppa Pig - Pixies (2) - Poe (2) - Post Malone (2) - Elvis Presley (2) - Queensryche - Ramones - Keith Richards - Rolling Stones - Todd Rundgren (2) - Sisters of Mercy - Son Volt - Soul Asylum - Ringo Starr (2) - Strawberry Alarm Clock - Sun Ra (2) - Taylor Swift (2) - T. I got Horse the Band for the RSD release. Wanted to get Kae Tempest but it was $45, seems a bit much for a 4 song EP
For non-RSD releases I was looking for Christine and the Queens Redcar but nobody had it .Picked up Fatboy Slim's "Back to Mine" I ordered Nia Archives EP from Rough Trade UK
Nice! I ended up getting the Mars Volta single, Grateful Dead, Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Rolling Stones, Sigur Ros & the Pixies. Wasn't planing on getting that many, but I got a little caught up I wanted to get the Frank Turner album neither shop I went to had it.
Grabbed The Sword, Sigur Ros, and Orville Peck. Was pretty bummed Violent Femmes was a flippin picture disc... Showed up 75 min before opening and was surprised to see the line about 25% longer than pre pandemic years. Turns out, that was due to the Swiftie presence based on the single copy of Long Pond left when I got in. The shop started with 40 copies! IDK, just an interesting observation.

Welp I went to a 3rd store. But the selection and prices were even better there. So I spent another 80. A tribe called quest anthology, The Clash live at Shea Stadium, and a DVD (of all things) of a documentary of a infamous punk club called the Outhouse in Lawrence KS. It's now a raunchy strip club. Last copy available and apparently the guy who made it passed away so I doubt it'll ever get made again
