Not a social media take, but I did get into a group chat debate with a Miami bro who said the 2017 Coachella lineup with Radiohead - Beyoncé - Kendrick was trash because Radiohead is boring, Beyoncé is famous but doesn’t have good songs, and Kendrick wasn’t big enough.
This guy is 40+ years old and still buys tickets to Ultra every year to see the same 6 DJs from 2008.

Is it that hard for people to admit a lineup is impressive even when it doesn't cater to their individual music taste? Also, god forbid you ever try a new artist or genre of music or even just enjoy a live spectacle. The Coachella lineup is totally not for me but still objectively awesome. I could easily find a bunch of stuff to enjoy if I had the occasion to attend. People who like Sonic Temple will always like it. Their headliners are on an every other year rotation.
Negativity is what drives social media. It’s easier to immediately say something is shit instead of ignoring it. Negative comments are pushed higher in the algorithm giving them more visibility which turns into more reacts/comments which in turn gives people a form of validation they don’t get at home. Tale as old as time.
