Where is Douglass Park?
Douglass Park is located on Chicago's west side. The festival takes place in the south half of the park, south of Ogden Avenue.
How do I get to Douglass Park?
I wrote a very long post about this which you can read here. I'm going to give the tldr here:
-If you're coming by train, take the pink line to Kedzie or California. The trains going to the festival tend to be fine but it gets very crowded after the festival ends. Consider leaving early if you don't care much about the headliner or walking to an alternate stop when getting on after leaving. Do not expect the CTA to run extra service on the pink line during Riot Fest. Be extra careful when waiting on train platforms. -If you're coming by bus, you are probably heading north/south. There are buses heading northbound on California and Kedzie (and Western if you want to chance the walk). They get very crowded after Riot Fest. Be prepared to wait. -If you're coming by car, there is some street parking available north of Ogden. You may also have luck with SpotHero. Arrive early. -If you're coming by Uber, be prepared to spend extra and wait a while.
How close are the aftershow venues to the festival?
(For the Google Map I created for this image, click here.)
As you can see, no venue is particularly close to Douglass Park. As such, you will likely have to Uber from Douglass Park to any of these venues to make an aftershow. Aragon is the furthest north; if you're going to that Danzig show you will have to leave early. The openers for the aftershows will start at 10PM and Chicago venues run late so don't worry as much about that. Including waiting for an Uber, allow yourself at least 30-45 minutes for Empty Bottle/Cobra Lounge/Bottom Lounge/Reggies, 45 minutes minimum for Concord/Chop Shop/House of Blues, and and at least an hour for Metro.
What are your Chicago recommendations?
I'm going to include space for others' recommendations.
shuck: As far as touristy attractions go, you can always have a nice time by checking out the Art Institute and Millennium Park. . For food/drinks, if you're taking the pink line to the festival you will pass through the West Loop at some point (Morgan/Clinton stops), a neighborhood now famous for its restaurants. Of course, it would be remiss of me to not mention Kuma's, the metal-themed burger restaurant and bar with a good beer selection. Gaijin, a Japanese spot that serves pretty much exclusively okonomiyaki, is my personal favorite West Loop restaurant. If you're in town earlier, Nights & Weekends is a fun bar in the West Loop that opens at 5 daily.
Where should I stay?
If you're just getting a hotel now you probably want to save yourself the hassle of finding a not-too expensive Airbnb that won't cost you a fortune in Uber rides to get to/from the festival and just get a hotel close to the train.
ok I think I covered everything let me know if I missed anything.
If anyone of our fellow four-starred friends have any recs for restaurants etc. please post them here and I’ll add them, otherwise I *will* post my full day Lincoln Park itinerary.
For anyone staying near The West Loop I would definitely recommend Au Cheval. Probably my favorite Burger in the city. It gets busy though so I would recommend going soon after they open.
We’re definitely going to Kumas. Probably going to have pizza delivered after the fest. Which place should we get delivery from? Also what’s the best hot dogs close to the fest?
Big fan of the street meat on the walk back to the California station. Especially the tamales and sweet corn. Pick a house and go with it and help support the neighborhood.

One of the hard parts about pizza recommendations is that I’m not sure the pizza places I like will delivery as far south as you’ll be. My favorite pizza is Aurelio’s, they have a branch in south loop but I don’t think they do delivery (could probably do Grubhub though). It’s Sicilian style but Pizza Friendly Pizza next to Empty Bottle is a really good newcomer.
Edit: there’s a Totorice’s in West Town; I really like them too.
Admittedly, Chicago is at the end of the tour and these are the first two shows that are postponed.
Tour Bus Shortage is a new one for me though.
going to preemptively answer some questions here: while they are scrambling to reschedule the date, Behemoth is NOT welcome at the backyard BBQ summer concert series.

Bought Yard Act. Holding off on Friday show, because Ride ended up being more pricey than I thought. Might just take Saturday night to chill, I’ve seen Godspeed before

I did the same for RIDE. I think I'll just wait for the schedule and if need-be ill buy then.
I could have sworn my tix were only like $30 ea for their co-headline tour with Charlatans earlier this year at LH.
