We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I was just telling someone that "Bourbon & BBQ" could mean either Brandi Carlile or a 3 Doors Down cover band. Good eyes to notice that only KSHE and The Point had RT'd this announcement in December. That does not inspire optimism, but I'm still poised to give them my money as soon as humanly possible unless it's 2 days of straight Nickelback.
Also, after just spending like 45 minutes scouring the internet, I think your note about the retweets qualifies you as a top-5 newsbreaker about this. They've really kept it under wraps!

It’s too bad that festival down in Cortex from a few years back never made it in STL. They booked some cool talent that year. That said, didn’t STL have a new multi genre festival in the fall last year that was semi successful? It’s a little surprising to see them announce another one considering their inability to keep anything going beyond a few years, but I’m all for you guys getting more options. .
Some of the early Loufests were pretty great!! Especially 2014 and 2016 if memory serves me correct! Before it got mismanaged into the ground.

I am floored at how little press there has been about this. They should hire me to do their PR. And I am shit at PR.

We had Music at the Intersection in September which I hear was pretty great. The lineup was pretty eclectic and so was the audience. We were out of town that weekend so I wasn't able to go but a friend went and had a blast. Said it was managed really well too. Is the festival that was in Cortex not Music at the Intersection? Because I feel like I remember a lot about it being in "a new location" in 2022...
RIP Loufest. I have no clue how they managed to fuck that one up.

The fest I was referring to was called Murmurations Festival. It was from one of the original Loufest guys that left that group in 2014 I believe. The concept was to create a SWSX atmosphere, but it never took off and looks like 2016 was the only year of the fest.
Regarding last year, it was Music at the Intersection that I couldn’t remember the name! I asked my friends who went and they said they received communication that it’s happening again, so even if this lineup sucks you should at least have that!

I’m fully expecting this to be a festival focused on food and booze with ZZ Top or someone like that headlining. Everything about this this is terribly run so far.

Brandi Carlile *is* my cup of tea! Best live act I've ever seen, save Sir Paul at Bonnaroo. The rest looks tolerable/promising. I live really close to Forest Park, so this is just great. Better, it's really great that if this is hopefully a yearly thing, their genre niche is something I can get on board with. Thank goodness it's not like the Creed reunion or something.

I'm in! Scored tix the minute they went on sale. $245 for 2 GA wristbands, fees, and shipping is pretty stellar. Funny enough, tickets run through the same portal as Sound on Sound fest in Bridgeport, CT that I was supposed to go to last year. Had to miss it, and apparently it was a cluster, but even one ticket cost a lot more than this.

I'm still pretty excited for this, but have they been doing literally anything to build hype for this?? Any news, rumors, speculation, hopes, dreams, etc.? (I am, uh, not at Bonnaroo this year, but maybe some of us other sad people are thinking about stuff we will be at. Going to Open Highway Fest tomorrow!)

Whose got my lineup rumors?!
Hoping for The War on Drugs based on Bourbon & Beyond the weekend before. The National would be great, too, although I'm not totally sure they fit the theme.
Also: does anyone have insight as to why they moved the dates? I have a few guesses, but I don't think I ever saw anything mentioned officially or in the press.
